South Area Honor Band!

I feel like the biggest jerk. I know its not my fault. But still.

Theres this band called South Area that you audition for. A whole bunch of schools audition and come together to be one band. Anyway, I didnt audition because I heard there were 19 flutes.

Throughout the whole week my band couldnt stop talking about how much the piccolo player sucked. "She never comes in on time, she cant get a sound out, she has no rythm and she plays wrong notes." So, we played the song that she plays piccolo on in our class the day of they had the concert. Ive played it before so I knew how it went. Anyway, my band director is the one who conducts that piece in the concert. During lunch he came to me and said I was playing that one song in the concert and to show up at 7. I was like WHAT!? I didnt audition and I knew the girl was gonna be pissed. He said he was gona tell her before the concert started.

7 p.m. rolls around and he wasnt there. The middle school band went on first so he still had time. When its time for the high band to go on he didnt have a chance to tell her and since he was the last one to go on, he would tell her right before we played the song. I would of been so pissed. So when its time to perform Wizard of Oz, I come on stage, grab a chair and music stand, sit down, and watch my band director walk over to the girl and tell her that shes not playing piccolo and to share first part. Omg I felt so bad! While I was playing I happened to look over at her and her face was bright red and she was CRYING! Poor girl... But I mean its not my fault... If she could of played her part it would of never happened... but I dont think he should of told her right before we played the song...

Anyway, after the concert I sw her and apologized. I said "Sorry my band director is such an ass." A lot of people from my school went up to her and said the same thing but a lot of people came up to me and thanked me for coming and playing the part. There was a lot of solos and they were glad that I came and said I did a good job. I think my band director got in trouble cuz I heard he was upset about something after the concert and saw him talking to other band directors after the concert. But hey, he brought it upon himself.

After that, I was invited to go out to dinner by someone who Ive known since the 7th grade, Chris, with some friends from my old high school Flanagan. It was Mark, a cooper city girl Linda, some guy (forgot his name) who apparently was in my 9th grade pathfinder class, Chris and I. We went out to eat at Fridays. We met up with some more people at the resturant and got a huge table. I told Mark to go up to one of the waiters and say it was Chris's birthday and when Danny left from the table I took a huge bite out of his dinner. The Fridays crew came out and sang happy birthday to Chris. He was totally oblivious until the end of the song. We're like "Happy Birthday Chris!" lol It was fun.

When Chris was dropping everyone off at home, I realized that I was flirting a lot with him. He was flirting back too and Im usually shy when it comes to that but for some reason I kept on doing it. We happen to have have a lot in common and get along real good and like the same music and everything. Its weird cuz Ive known him since I was 12, and I thought he hated me and thought he was really annoying, but throughout the night I couldnt help but think how cool he was and how much he was making me laugh. He gave me his cell phone to put my number in it, and when he said "Dont you need mine?" I said well call me and I'll save it in my phone. Im putting him to the test to see if he will call me. I hope he does. I think I might have a new crush...
