So, I had quite the ride home...

I was coming home from the board meeting, on 29 at the light at 66. (this is going to have some extra detail just in case I ever have to call on it, sorry that you'll be sorting through it but whatever, it's my journal.) I was in the first car in the right lane and a guy (whose name I later found out was Matt) was in the left lane next to me. There was another car, a dark colored (black? but I'm not sure) BMW behind Matt in the left lane. When the light turned green, Matt got ahead of me, and then the BMW cut over in front of me, speeding past. I was probably doing ~40 at that point. Once the BMW was a few car lengths ahead of me, it seemed like he suddenly made a right turn- at first I assumed that he was just trying to make a sharp right turn onto the road there. Then he went off the road, did a 180 as he went into the ditch. I stopped a ways ahead of him (across from the commuter parking lot) and immediately called 911 (I definitely expected an injury...) As I was on the phone with 911, I walked over towards the car. I walked over and looked at the car, since they asked what kind of car it was and what color and such. Matt was looking around and wasn't able to find the driver. Not under the car, not in the car, not around the car... The back driver's side window was gone. There was another older guy there that said he was a federal police officer that was on the phone with the cops. I walked around and I noticed a Battlefield Towing truck and that there was a guy walking towards the car (wearing what I believe was a light gray battlefield towing shirt. He was somewhat bald, mustache, didn't seem to be that old, though- like 40s-50s?) that asked "Did Mike get out of the car?" I was like "wait, what...?" and he continued walking towards the car, and I went back over there. I talked to one of the cops that pulled up and gave him my name and number, but couldn't really help him much since I hadn't seen the mysterious disappearing driver. I realized on my way home about the Mike thing- it didn't come to mind while I was talking to the officer- and I called the non-emergency number for Fairfax police. I just got a call back a few minutes ago from an officer just getting a bit more information from me. So... yeah. Just got home about 1/2 hour ago. And it's bedtime, if I'm able to sleep.
