Cartoon Network finally brought Full Metal Alchemist to the US. And I am... not sure what to think.
The dialogue seems okay. The editing wasn't THAT bad, considering all the blood and violence the show has. BUT, since they don't play intro themes, I got shortchanged.
SHOW THE INTRO, ADULT SWIM!
Why? Because the intro theme is named "MELISSA"! And it was at the top of the J-POP charts for almost 16 weeks!
And the ending theme! What the HELL? They've TRANSLATED the thing! WHY the HELL translate the ending theme? You guys didn't translate the Cowboy Bebop ending theme. You tack on the Inuyasha ending theme changes EVERY TIME without translating! Why do this now? Better to NOT have the theme then!
Overall, a good series. (Yes, I will claim this, even if I've only watched 14-16 episodes total. I liked what I saw and wanted more. That's good enough for me.)
On the other side of that hour is GiTS:SAC. Again, nice translations and few edits... BUT THEY LEFT THE INTRO THEME ALONE! Come ON, people! Why do this with one and not the other? Yes, I DO like this intro too--and the ending one to boot. But still! Not fair, AS!
In short, good choices for new stuff. But we want more, so cycle out whatever's on repeat and bring on more stuff!
