The spell that bound me to the Tree, and that I told you was to ensure the protection, well-being and communicability of those through the Tree was, in fact, primarily for another purpose entirely. It did contain spells to ensure that those through the Tree were healed, upon arrival; likewise, it ensured that they would be able to bring no weapons with them, and that the language they spoke would be understood by all around them. It was a spell that I was ordered to cast by the Family and the Elven people.
However, the binding of my soul's energy to the Tree, in order to cast the spell, would not have been necessary, in those cases. It was only necessary because I was casting a spell that changed the fabric of Rowan itself.
You wondered for what cause you arrived here. Wonder no more. I was the one who opened the Gate.
