I understand that several of you assisted in the escape of a prisoner being kept under the city.
This prisoner was a member of the ancient Gate Guardian order, and someone whose responsibility it is to contain and destroy threats that come from the Tree. You were misguided and deceived.
Now that they have escaped, we will not pursue; rather, we will remain here, and make sure that this city is secure and defended, in the event that they return with hostile intent.
Any who admit to their part in this will be of course forgiven, and will remain unpunished.
However, I am required to treat those who sabotage us as enemies. I don't want to do this. I would rather be able to take care of all of you, and have no disharmony amongst us, but I cannot disobey the orders of my Father.
As such, I ask that those who had part in this please step forward.
