I guess I'm just used to seeing more of you around. Weren't you planning some sort of memorial? I'm kind of surprised I haven't heard any more about that yet.

I think more people would want to mourn the day than celebrate it. So it's probably best not to acknowledge it at all. Better to forget all about it than to mope, you know?

Clearly you've never been to an Irish wake.

Afraid not. But let me guess? Massive amounts of repression? That's the Hylian way.

The Risans are great. They mourn a death by prying open the eyes of the dead and howling like wolves.

Humans just get skunked.

Not so much. Not the one I went to, anyway. Respectful reflection, and then a lot of music and alcohol and horribly inappropriate stories about the deceased. It was almost like a very morbid birthday party. Without the cake.

Actually, that doesn't sound too bad. I think that's how I want my death to be commemorated. Except, with cake. Everyone needs a little cake.

With cherries, of course. And maybe those candles. Believe it or not, I've never had a birthday cake.

Do you know when your birthday is? When do you celebrate it?

The best estimate is October 25th. I don't know how accurate that is, but I like it. October's such a pretty month. All the colors!

I wish we had a calendar of everyone's birthday. I'd love any chance we could get to celebrate something.
