Our group has separated somewhat. After a trek to the south, Mikney and Cordelia are returning home. Well, to our little home away from home. Sonic and I are continuing to explore. We came upon an Elven city in ruins. Smoke was rising. Apparently, they were attacked. We met a young (looking) Elf named Tamber. It seems I now have healing powers I didn't know I had. He was not especially friendly or forthcoming, but I guess that was my own damn fault.
I think Sonic and I might try to find you lot. We're not getting much here. I know Sonic and Cordelia found some letter detailing the exploits of "Demons" but where I come from, that word clearly means something different than it does here.
Ginny is well. She's made friends, which appears to be her default state of being. It seems to me that she's much happier out here. The centaurs are... something that must be experienced to be believed. Sonic knows where to find us. If we move before you arrive I'll write to let you both know.
Absolutely none. In Hyrule, healing powers are exceptionally rare. They're almost completely unachievable for most humanoid lifeforms. I somehow used a cacao bean as a conduit. It allowed me to drain poison from the arrow wound.
In Hyrule, there are three levels of witchcraft. The first is casting spells with an incantation, the second is casting spells with a gesture or tool, the third is casting a spell with nothing but the power of your mind. Each is one step up. If you're not using words, that might mean you're becoming more powerful than before. I can't say for certain. The rules are clearly different here.
Different things - bits and pieces. I can move things with my mind. I've been calling fish out of streams into my hands. Throwing rocks, I can keep them flying away until I lose sight of them, as long as they're small. Heavier things fall back sooner. I've been able to soften the ground, but it's always firmed up again by the morning. I used to be able to apparate, which is is a way of traveling in which you simply stop being in one place and start being in another place. I've also been able to change the temperature of things slightly. Warming our clothing when we reached the mountains, and cooling water when the day is hot. I created a very small weather barrier, but it didn't last long. It seems like nothing compared to what I had before, but... it's better than feeling entirely useless.
When you arrive I can show you, and you can show me.
Sounds pretty impressive Cedric. Especially for a Human. Then again, where I come from, Humans don't exactly get as much power as the Hylians.
I look forward to seeing it. And if you see any interesting stones or pebbles or herbs along your way, make sure to pick them up. I'll see if I can do anything with them.
By the by, I fashioned a wand for Ginny out of hematite. Would you like one as well? I don't know if it would do much magical good, but it might make a psychological difference.
That's very kind of you. I'm not sure if it will make a difference, but it can't hurt to try.
[[it's a few minutes before the next words appear, and the handwriting is smaller and darker, as though the quill is moving much more slowly]] It means a lot to me that you want to help.
