Beginning today, the human forces, for the most part, withdraw from Jhelbor. What's left is mostly a skeleton crew, civilians who aren't under the command of the military. Demons, in contrast, seem perfectly fine with populating their area of the city. The Elves have already mostly left.

Goblins have started diving into the lake. They don't identify what they're doing unless they're asked. On long inspection, it seems as though they're retrieving things in the depths, and bringing them up.

Aspen stands by the edge of the lake, her hair tossing in the wind. After a while, River Royal comes out and joins her. Neither of them look as though they particularly enjoy one another's presence.

Tarn is nearby. He's not one of the people diving, but he has some baskets with some things inside that look like small mudcakes.

Before the humans withdraw, Frederick establishes a human embassy near the city center.

Now, outside of it, Tori of Landing smooths down her skirts. She's young, for this kind of post. She's spent a lot of her time studying the Elves, and their culture, running errands for the Elf and Human embassies, such as they are, in Jericho.

But she's prepared. She can do this.

She can be the ambassador to the worldwalkers.

(Though the lack of armed support worries her, just a bit.)

Aihlenal is not a typical Elf.

When he rides into the city, he doesn't do so with the straight-backed, easygoing elegance that the other Elves do. His eyes are intense, casually charismatic in a way that's impossible to ignore. And he moves casually, restrained, with an apparent lack of grace.

He dismounts, outside the Elf embassy, and, with a gesture, starts the unloading process.

This is the man in charge of the Elves here.

Funny, he doesn't look like he's a relative of Quahl's at all.
