The caravan leaves the oasis in the early morning on Monday; the guardsmen comb the oasis to make sure they're leaving no one behind.
Most of the horses and camels have been stocked with food and water for the journey; everyone else is on foot. At the front, the shaman leads, on horseback, occasionally pausing to consult papers, to use a dowsing rod, and to examine the air before him.
The Queen and the Princess are just behind, also on horseback, followed by the Prince, on horseback as well, and a line of guardsmen who are reluctant to let anyone through.
Before leaving, the shaman cautions everyone to follow near-exactly in his footsteps; the route he takes winds up and down sand dunes, occasionally doubles back on itself, and generally doesn't seem to make much sense.
The remainder of the guardsmen and servants lead the pack-animals, and they seem to assume that the worldwalkers will follow behind.
Mikney walks a bit apart from everyone else; he's mostly silent and contemplative. The white silk he's wearing never seems to get dirty or sweatstained, though, and he never seems to tire.
Devorah and Jason bring up the rear. Jason never gets close to any of the human royalty.
The caravan halts every few hours for a brief rest and to get everyone a drink of water. For the most part, this is the only time to drink water -- the humans say it's to conserve water rations. They stop for the day after sunset, once the desert has become dark.
This routine will continue until next Sunday night.
IMPORTANT: Everything that could be considered a weapon or used in the practice of any branch of magic has been taken away. All personal belongings will be returned at the end of the journey, the Queen has given her word on this.
Majiks have been bound with silk in the appropriate places. Hands for Sorcerers, eyes for Witches, etc. If you don't remember where this is for your characters, just ask. The silk bindings have a one strike rule. If your character attempts to remove them, be prepared to face the consequences.
extra note: Cherry's eyes have been bound with silk, but there are small holes cut so that she can see. Her vision is not impeded, but her Witchcraft is successfully blocked.
