It's a tough course, to get to the Mother's cell.
First you have to go through an army barracks, with a ton of off-duty soldiers. Then up the stairs, which are regularly trafficked; finally, on the top floor, the Mother is in a cell at the far end of a hallway, heavily guarded, alone, in a locked room.
Attending her are several guards, the Demon elite, along with Niko, sorcerer powers at the ready, Kale, who constantly has a flame playing about his hands somewhere, Evelyn, who spends most of the time with her head cocked, 'listening' to the Mother's cell, and Senator Zosima, pacing and irritable.
