Well this is new.
Something about the way the stalls are laid out, crowded in on each other - coupled with the square, even construction - reminds Rayne a little bit of Mars Prime. Back when the population overflowed what the city was built for, and people just started inhabiting the cracks. Living everywhere they could fit.
They gave Jenna the slip around the gate into the city, and the armed group that seemed to be checking everyone who entered. Not in any real way, though; once stated that they were human and in the city for pleasure, not business, they'd been let in without comment.
And now here they are.
In a bustling metropolis full of a variety of people - things - beings that Rayne hasn't ever seen in his life.
Luckily, he's good at watching without looking like he's watching. Survival technique, from when he had to wear the uniform on the streets of Chicago. And boy are those instincts active right now - he remembers the cues for suspicious behavior, the signs of crime, and he's keeping an eye out for them. Because he really doesn't think that Robbie and Cedric, especially after a climb like that, have any chance of looking out for themselves in a city this chaotic.
