To Min, it had only been a day since Tails had sent the map to her over the journals. She'd gotten sidetracked, and figured that one more day wouldn't hurt -- especially if he was keeping a cat for her.
She hadn't wanted to wait more than a day, though. Given the strange things that were happening with time, who knew how long it had been for Tails?
It only took a moment for Tails to answer the door, since he'd only been reading. He gently nudged a curious kitten away from the door with one tail. "Hello?"
He didn't recognize her, so he waited for her to introduce herself.
"It's nice to meet you Min, I'm Tails," Tails responded unneccesarily. Her reaction was better than he expected at least. He picked up the kitten that was trying to slip past him and opened the door wider in invitation. "Not yet, but they're getting there. Would you like to come in and see them?" She seemed okay so far so he felt comfortable inviting her inside
"Sure." She... she wanted to pet him. Okay, get a hold of yourself, Min.
She focused on the kittens instead. Oh gosh -- they were adorable. Min beamed. "Oooh!" she squealed, and knelt down to present her hand to the nearest one. It sniffed at her. "I adore them!" They were nothing like the stray cats that wandered Landing.
Tails chuckled a little, closing the door behind her and placing the kitten on the floor. It immediately moved to investigate their visitor. "I'm glad to hear it," he said, having a seat on the floor nearby. "I'm hoping to get most of them adopted into good homes."
Min pressed her lips together to keep from grinning her face off, and continued to inspect the kittens. The orange one tried to bite her -- she yanked her hand away. The next one she looked at had long hair -- no. Too much maintenance, and the hair would get everywhere.
There was one by the wall, pawing at a mote of dust that was floating through the air. It was gray from head to toe, but when Min got close, she saw it had gem-like light green eyes.
"Ooh, look at you," she said, and held out her hand to the kitten. It pawed slightly at her, then nudged at her hand with its head. She petted its head -- it squirmed out from under her hand and nipped at her, but the nipping was more playful than aggressive.
Tails found the display most adorable. The little gray one was one of his favorites to play with and was just as soft as anything. He scratched the ears of the female tortoiseshell-patterned one as he watched Min practically melt.
"Yes, yes, yes.." She scooped a hand under the kitten's belly to pick it up. It mewed at her and kept nipping in that not-terribly-hard way. "Aren't you a lovely little, um -- boy," she concluded after a quick check.
"Where did they all come from?" she asked, turning to Tails.
"One of the other worldwalkers had them born on her front step," he explained. "I just took them in. I wanted to make sure they'd be okay." And they definitely were. He had had a hard time housebreaking them though. Hopefully they'd remember to ask to be let out in their new homes.

What sort of name was 'Tails,' anyway?
She arrived at the door and knocked.

She really hadn't meant for that to come out. She'd seen a couple of strange creatures going around Jhelbor, but she hadn't known they could speak.
She shook herself out of it. Worldwalkers. What could you do.
"I'm Min." She smiled through the awkward feeling. "Hope the kittens haven't turned into cats yet."

Min's heart melted.
