Who: Penny, Bret, and Jemaine
What: Cheering Penny up
When: Evening of Monday February 8th (B&J are running faster so they'll be surprising her)
Where: Penny's flat
Bret really hated this time confusion business. It was all rather worrisome. Jemaine had been disappearing on him and the thought of losing him after everything-- after all that? It was terrifying. So he'd been sort of plastered to Jemaine's side, much to Jemaine's annoyance.
At least one good thing had come out of it. Sort of. He liked all of the physical affection, anyway.
Jemaine wasn't thrilled to be going along with this. Even if he was more fond of Bret now, he was still Jemaine. And Jemaine was grumpy. Always had been. Bret was almost comforted by that. And he'd been able to convince him to do what he wanted, like always.
Penny needed comfort just as much as he did. Moreso. She'd lost her friend. He didn't want to imagine what that would be like. But he did anyway. It terrified him.
As they walked through town to Penny's place, Bret was also taking comfort in holding Jemaine's hand. Not only did that seem to guarantee that they'd stay together, but it made his heart race pleasantly. Maybe he could transfer some of that, 'everything is going to be okay' energy to Penny.
He knocked at the door, sneaking a shy little smile at Jemaine. And then, just to be safe, he murmured, "Be nice. She's probably really upset."
