Isn't this supposed to be summer? Isn't there supposed to be like, a break? Huh. Anyway, things are fine, but really busy- I have spent almost zero time with any of my friends- even calling them (sorry!) Well, except for the night that my bro wrecked his motercycle and called me in a panic- it wouldn't have been too much of a problem, except he had to be at Ft. Bliss in an hour. So I went to go get him and his bike(which was broken) and he shortly left on his girlfriends motercycle to go home, change and go to work. This left me, his girlfriend,my truck, and a broken motercycle stranded on the side of the road. OK. I can deal. I had friends who would be willing to help, right? Yeah, if I had their phone numbers! Naturally, I had left my planner- which I always have- with all the phone numbers- at home. So I called the people I had numbers memorized for, which was a total of three. Of the three, Doc didn't answer, Palmer was going to a movie with a hot chick, and Evan wasn't home. So. I finally get ahold of Evan on his cell and he's on his way over when JD's girlfriend (referred to by her name from here on out) Angela and I figured out how to jury rig JD's bike so you could ride it. Go us. Only problem was that Angela had to ride it, and it's way to big for her (she's really tiny) and she had no back brakes and no way to shift. So first gear all the way to my house clear across Cruces, with me tailing her so noone hits her, since she has no brakelights and its about ten at night. About a quarter of the way home, who finds us but Palmer, who had left his date to come rescue us. (my hero) So we get home and just chill for a while and drink a celebratory glass of port. (yummmy) It was interesting.
This whole full time school, full time work and gigging twice or three times a week is kicking my ass. Yep. Gigging. I wound up hooking up with a middle eastern dance group that performs and they just happened to hear that I was a flutist, and they invited me to play with them. I don't get paid much, because they don't get paid- just a share of the tips- but I made enough last Saturday to buy myself dinner and drinks at Applebees. And the bar where we perform gives us free drinks (hell yes) and it's an absolute blast, so it's all worth it. Plus it's really nice to be able to play and not have anyone criticize me- no matter what I do, it's good. I got called "biblical" last week, along with fantastic, wonderful and sexy. Yes, it's stroking my ego. but I like it!
School is going ok- really busy, really fast- "OK, this is how you write an Emperical report. It's due tomorrow." "By the way, don't forget that your communication problems papers are due tomorrow." "The midterm is Wednesday." AAAAAHHHHHHH. So I'm sleep deprived, but I'm getting a's in all my classes, so it's ok. I don't have to be alert for work anyway.
There it is- my absolutly dull recent life. And the end of scholl was so not dull- I wish my non music major boy was staying here over the summer- we had way too much fun (no, I didn't sleep with him, all you dirty minded people, you. and yes, he's called me-)
