And yes, it is very unfair. We've tried talking to the doctors and the therapists and shrinks to get this decision turned around. But they can't all agree and the doctor now seems to be under the thumb of the Children's Home.
My brother is ours in every way except for the last offical paperwork, which is being thwarted by the money grubbing Children's Home, because they want to keep his bed open to him so that they get even more money from the state of Florida. (He's been in the system for most of his life! it turns out)So we, as family members have no rights until the final paperwork is done. His rights are being stepped all over by money hungry beurocrats that have no interest in him as a human being with needs and wants and dreams... he's just a paycheck to them.
Aquiring a lawyer would further slow down the offical adoption paperwork because the Children's Home is run by vindictive greedy bastards. (see above statement and rinse and repeat).
Mom should be home soon with an update as to what the hell is going on and what we can do about this bull shit. And it is bull shit.
If it was me, I would've gotten a lawyer the moment the Children's Home decided they new how to better take care of him than a CERTIFIED NURSE! (Step mom is a bloody nurse with 20 + years under her belt!)
What he needs right now is love and support and understanding and medical care. He's not going to get those from the idiot fucktards at the Children's Home!

Maybe you sould get a lawyer involved, because even if the adoption process might take longer, the lawer can put a stop to things and in the long run make sure this never hapens again.
I am thinking and praying for you and your family.
I'll talk to my mom about the lawyer again, maybe I can change her mind. I have been known to be very persuasive in the past... hopefully it'll work this time!
