Baby's First Baby Shower
So I just attended my very first baby shower in my adult life. The real first one I don't really count since I was just like 13ish and went with my mom to my youth pastor's wife's shower. Talk about frilly. If it hadn't been for my three friends there with me, it would have been excruciating. I really love my pregnant friend, and I loved buying her gift (always love an excuse to buy baby things), but the frills and the silly games and the awkward mix of people whose only connection is the guest of honor.
When I get preggers, if you are throwing me a shower, please no frills, no silly shower games. Throw out all the preconceived ideas of a traditional shower. Let's just think normal party with good food and good friends and good times. Or just classy ladies lunch. Anything but shower silliness.
