Drive-by shootings and terrorists come to NE
Well actually no. It's tractor-by shootings and terrorist COWS...
So a cattle truck overturned on I-80 today near Council Bluffs (which is actually Iowa) and 7 "rogue" cows were found to be wandering the highway. Several had to be shot so they couldn't wreak any more havok.
Now for the tractor-by shooting. Dad has this friend named Matt and Matt lives on a ranch. Well the other day Matt's dad hollers for him to grab his deer rifle (yes, basically every home in NE except ours has a deer rifle). So he grabs his deer rifle (which, it should be noted he doesn't keep loaded) and he runs over to his dad and his dad points out into their fields at something, which Matt can't make out, that has apparently been goin after their dog. Well, Matt doesn't think he wants to walk all that way out into the field so he hops on the garden tractor and rides out into the field. When he finally gets out there he makes out a raccoon. Now, I know my city girls may not be familiar with raccoons but some of them are smaller than my cat and Matt is carrying a *DEER RIFLE*. So, he's driving the garden tractor trying to get his rifle loaded. When he passed by the raccoon, as he tells it, "Boy did I kill it!". They discovered later the animal was rabid so it was a good thing they killed it, although maybe using the .22 would have been a little less messy.
I am so amused, so so so so so amused. Man have I come a long way.
