home

Home at last. I got home on Monday. I have not wasted any time in throwing myself back into things here with friends and what not, but now I'm really tired. I think I need a nap today.
So, worlds was pretty freaking awesome. There were some dark times during training, like at Lake Placid when I was frustrated with line ups and injuries and all that, but when all is said and done, it's completely worth it. International racing is incredible. It's worth leaving everyone and heading to an unfamiliar coast to row for an idiot who has a giant stick up his ass for two months and waking up before 5 everyday and centering your life around that one goal. I raced four seat in the eight (starboard stroked), and we got 4th. (i guess i have a thing for 4th). It was a disappointing race in one way, because we were in a medaling position for almost the entire race, in first at one point, but I don't know that we could have raced any harder. Those damn Brits beat us fair and square. And I was additionally pleased with the outcome because Romania didn't win for once. Although, the German national anthem ended up being a bit overplayed. The men's eight took gold. I actually cried a little when I watched their race. It was sort of just an emotional day, but it was also just amazing.
But I'm glad to be home and I have much much to do. And I'm going to go to Caz's now because he just called.
