A lot of animals think it's fun to go for things they aren't supposed to have rather than the things you give them. Sometimes it's a play for attention, but not always. If you ever need a hand training the dogs, I could probably find some time, or my brother could now that he's out of school for the summer. Granted, every once in awhile you get one who loves something so much they simply CAN'T be trained out of going for it whenever they get a chance--one of mine's like that with chasing squirrels, though he's well behaved the rest of the time; I'm fairly strong, but he practically dislocates my shoulder when he sees one sometimes.

You enjoy bird-watching?

It's prolly attention. I give her a lot, but she's always wantin' more. Pretty feisty little thing. I'd like ta take ya up on tha offer o' help trainin'. It's cute an' yet it ain't, ya know?

Just gettin' inta it. Kinda likin' tha nocturnal birds.

Yeah, some of them are like that. Sure. Weekends are typically good for me, although I can usually switch my hours at the zoo, so I'm alright anytime Thursday or Friday too, as long as I have advance notice to let Rinoa know changes in schedule. And I know what you mean. It's always nice to have shoes without holes in them.

Owls and such?

That sounds good. If anything comes up, let me know and we can do this next week instead, alright? Ahaha, well, maybe we can teach her only to chew on the shoes you give her. You said she has her own pair now (undoubtedly because she had already destroyed them)? That way she gets to be happy and you get to wear shoes that won't leave you with your feet instantly drenched when it rains.

They're interesting birds. And it's not as exciting as seeing them in the wild (though I'd hardly call San Francisco wild), but you should visit the aviary at the SF Zoo. I already told Yachiru that either my brother or I could get her in for free. She's a nice girl. I don't know if I'd ever met anyone else as energetic as my family is before.

Sure, I'll remember tha'. Yeah, she's got a pair now 'cause they ain't gonna be o' any use ta me anymore. Well... tha left one ain't. Tha righ' one she ain't started in on yet, but I gave her both. One shoe just don't work.

Huh, might have ta check tha' out. If yer brother's got tha same tattoos as ya, I've met him. Kiba, righ'? An' ya knowin' Yachiru's a cool thing. Small world, sometimes.

Yeah, one shoe never works too well on its own.

Mmhmm, Kiba's my little bro. The tattoos are a family thing. Our mother's got them too. Except her eyelids are red also. We have a tendency to stand out a bit. Yachiru came to that bonfire my brother had at the beach. Artemis had fun playing with our dogs.

Unless yer a pirate wi' a pegleg. Kinda like both o' my legs, though.

Family tattoos? Tha's a pretty cool idea. Artemis likes ta play wi' other dogs. Athena likes ta try ta eat other dogs' tails. Quirky little thing. Don't wanna get after her too hard 'cause she flinches a' loud voices. Got a feelin' her previous owners yelled a bit.

Most people do.

Yeah, I always liked it. I think they're part symbolic, and part just about the family connection, but for me it's also just been a bit of a declaration that I don't care what people think. I like the strange looks I get. Heh, just as long as she doesn't bite too hard. We don't want any actual tail amputations. You get her from the shelter? Some of them have that problem. I've been around some who don't even like being touched. Usually takes awhile, but eventually they can sometimes get over it, with good owners and a lot of patience. I don't yell too often, so I don't think we'll have any problems.

Strange looks 're fun, heh. Yeah, she ain't tryin' ta eat tha tails, just nip 'em. An' yeah, got her from tha shelter. She's gettin' better, though, an' pretty darn forward, heh.
