Regularity and Information Gathering:
The newsletter is monthly and the mods strive to post on the 1st of every month to this community.
Advertisement may be found in sister communities and other animanga journals to raise awareness and interest. Users are encouraged to cross-post a link back to this community,
rov-regular, in their own journals or in other ways share the community newsletter posts with other fans.
Information within the following categories will be “scouted” and managed by the mods -
- official news
- meta/reviews
- roleplay alert
- general fandom
However, all users of the community can - in PMs to the mods - inform of news known to them which they think have been forgotten or ignored and should thus be included in the newsletter.
The Use of Scouting Users/Scouts:
In all categories not covered by the mods, the community aims to involve other members and have them “scout” for news. “Scouting” means looking for new Rose of Versailles fan material on LiveJournal and other websites online, including but not limited to fanfiction.net and deviantart.com. A scout is expected to collect links to new (not previously posted) fan material within their specific category and send these links in a PM to the mods before the newsletter deadline is reached.
Any member of this community can volunteer to be a “scout” in any available category. All categories require a minimum of 2 scouts and a maximum of 4 at any given time. If, at any point, the minimum count of scouts for a category is not met, the mods will step in and cover the category to the best of their ability.
However, the community,
rov-regular, is founded on the idea that the members themselves get involved in the fandom and as such it is ideal if the users themselves cover the non-moderated categories.
A member becomes a scout by commenting to
this entry where all categories are listed along with the scouts currently covering them.
The categories covered by scouts are fanfiction, fanart, icons/graphics and cosplay. If the mods find that any relevant material within these categories has been forgotten or ignored, they will add the respective links themselves without further notice.
Any questions or concerns can be added in a comment to this entry or in a PM to any of the mods. Thank you. :) The first regular newsletter will be posted on the 1st of May.
