aaaah my first mod post be gentle with me
Hi, everybody! Aramod here, with a few notes on some recent policy clarifications and changes. Sorry to have this so close on the tail of the previous announcement, but we didn't want to delay a heads-up.
1. ON HUMANIZATION
We've been approaching this so far on a case-by-case, 'if it looks human, I guess it's okay' basis, leading to some confusion and different interpretations among players. We decided to clarify a few points to keep things as fair as possible for everyone, so here are the updated standards!
1) if it is VISIBLY and JARRINGLY nonhuman, it is changed!
This doesn't apply for small, easily-hidden things, like a set of sharp teeth or lightly-pointed ears. But if your character has, say, horns or blue skin or a tail, that would be gone when they arrive in Johto!
1.01) If your character is lacking certain organs or has them magically/bionically replaced in canon, they will receive fully-functioning human organs during their stay in Johto; a heart for every Nobody is the first thing that comes to mind.
2) If it GIVES A POWER, it is changed or unusable!
If your character has, say, a bionic arm that has lasers attached, all of those lasers would be offline for the duration of their stay in Johto. Any kind of magical appendage would become normal.
2.01) A note on prosthetics: if your character needs a prosthetic limb to move about, they may keep it.
3) If the character is an ANDROID or ROBOT or ANIMAL, they are now human.
Yes, even if they look perfectly human on the outside, their electronic innards are now very blood-and-flesh-y. Have fun with your new digestive tract!
If you have an android character in-game whose insides are still robotic, they'll be noticing gradual changes over the course of the month and be completely human by November 1st.
If you have any questions or ideas concerning transformations of new arrivals, please let us know here, PM the mod account, ping one of us on Plurk or AIM, or leave a (screened) comment on the inquiries.
2. ON EEVEES
Eevees are really cute, and it's hard not to notice just how incredibly popular they are! With Route as big as it is now, we felt that a limit of 10 was a bit too strict, but at the same time, Eevee remains a rare pokemon, so we don't want a huge surge of Eevee starters. We were lucky enough to receive some great player suggestions on how to deal with this, which we've decided to implement.
NB: For the moment, this applies ONLY to Eevees, since they are by far the most popular of the 'rare' starters. We may consider starting a system like this for Dratini, as well, if demand is high enough.
1) The 10-Eevee limit will be abolished, replaced with five fresh slots every two months, beginning in November.
You're probably going 'bzuh???' And we can't blame you. This is how it will work: every two months, five Eevee slots will open. If all of those fill up and you still desperately want an Eevee, you'll know exactly when to apply again. These slots will open on the first of every other month, and will not stack.
For example: from the 1st of November to the 31st of December, 5 Eevees will be available. If, within that time period, only two are claimed, on the 1st of January there will not be 8 slots available, but only 5.
2) Anyone applying for an Eevee starter will have to write a brief explanation concerning why Eevee is a perfect match for their character.
Just like what we currently have with Pikachu, except more serious. Of course, with five slots, we'll have to be more strict. That said, we'd like to remind everyone that obtaining an Eevee egg through breeding is a fairly simple task; we're just trying to limit the amount of starters, because having more of a variety of starters allows for fresh 'stock' to come into the region, as it were.
If you have any questions or ideas concerning starters, please let us know here, PM the mod account, ping one of us on Plurk or AIM, or leave a (screened) comment on the inquiries.
