Who: usedrage and biteisbigger Where: Goldenrod City Pokemon Center When: March 19th, Evening Summary: Ken and Kisa finally meet up--Ken has a gift for her ;A; Rating: A for Adorable ; E for Everyone Log: ( Maybe you're seeing things the wrong way. )
It felt... strange, to be out of bed after spending the past few days getting over her fever, but compared to a two-week hospitalization, certainly nothing to complain about. Her Pokémon (or most of them) had been remarkably patient about training, so the least Kisa could do was take them out to stretch their legs. Mogeta had just returned to her arms when ping--
Blinking in confusion - was it Artemis? - she checked the gear. And then stared down at it. The message itself was simple, but the sender--
No less than two minutes later, the doors parted to admit entrance to a little girl, pink-cheeked from running and with a Pichu clinging to her shoulder. She scanned the lobby anxiously, doing a tentative sidestep to avoid getting run into by other trainers, and then her eyes fell on the boy sitting there.
To say that Kisa lit up was an extreme understatement. There was a moment of awkward shyness-- she didn't know if he'd like her in person, but her overall happiness overshadowed anything else.
Ken almost jumped to his feet as he heard her, Polydeuces scrambling for the safety of his arms, with a smile. It faded a little, the size of the grin being replaced by awkward nervousness.
"I hope I didn't bother you... Are you feeling better?" He'd noticed her blush, and was concerned that it might be a relapse of her fever. "I... could have come to see you if you're still sick."
"N-no..." She paused to take a deep breath and ended up nearly doubled over with her hands braced on her knees. Okay, maybe running from the route all the way through Goldenrod hadn't been the brightest idea with her stamina. "I mean... I'm not sick anymore... a-and I'm not bothered..."
A pause, mainly to catch her breath, and Kisa sighed. "I just... heard you were here, and I..." Breath. "... Wanted to see you?" she concluded meekly.
He's a little bit worried about how worn out she seems to be. "Do you want a drink? You didn't need to rush... I would have waited." His Pokemon are still getting their check-ups.
Kisa shook her head again and finally straightened up-- just in time to hear that comment. The pinkness in her cheeks had yet to fade, but she mustered a shy smile at him. It looked as though things would be okay.
And then, belatedly remembering that this was her first time meeting him, she bowed. "It's... nice to meet you... um, not on a screen."

He returned the gesture, a little upset with himself for not doing so earlier. "You, too. I'm happy we finally got to meet." He meant it, he really did. It was nice to meet a new friend, a warm feeling in his chest--he felt the same way when he met Miles for the first time. It made it hard not to smile.

Most times, Kisa would have at least had a moment of doubt. People could be kind, but being kind and being truthful weren't always the same thing. Any one of the Zodiac members knew this as an indisputable fact.
But there was something about the way Ken said it, and his smile that made it easy to believe him and provoked an equally warm feeling inside of her. One that made it possible for Kisa to truly smile brightly and bob her head in a nod. "Mm...! I'm... really happy... and that you made it safe."

His smile didn't falter. "We would have, sooner or later. Pess would have figured it out, if we didn't." You know... that she was a dog. He laughs a very little bit at himself, turning a little red, himself, with embarrassment. Poly scrambled down from his arms, and into the chair he'd been sitting in before Kisa arrived.
"--!!" Of course! He'd forgotten. "I almost forgot, I have something for you."

"Eh...?" Ken wasn't the only one who'd forgotten. In between the fever dreams and the striving to get better on time and worrying about how Artemis was doing and Miles and Ken in the forest, she'd completely put the White Day present out of her mind. She and Mogeta both tilted their heads, before the Pichu gave her a gentle pat on the cheek and she started.
"-- Oh! Um..." Now there was the fluster again. "You didn't have to..."
He blushed, his smile finally fading into an uncertain, embarrassed neutral. Not an unpleasant one, just... slightly embarrassed. He scooped the gift from the top of his bag and held it out for her, unsure of how, exactly, one did something like this, or if it was okay to even do so.
"I-I hope you like it. I didn't really..." know what to get.
No matter what Ken said, Kisa would always believe that he was a good person, and this just proved it yet again. She'd only sent him a toy for Hermes, both for the Nidoran's sake and so Ken's things wouldn't suffer the impact of teeth. It hadn't been a Valentine's Day present, but here he was with... this... oh. Right, taking it.
She looked at him hesitantly (with also just a bit of curiosity), then slowly reached out to accept the gift from him. After a moment of studying it, she worked her nail along the paper, coaxing it to unwrap without tearing it. It might have taken longer, but that was just how she was.
He sputtered a little as he watched her open it, very sure now that he had chosen poorly. He'd brought Aigis with him to pick out the delicate looking black-ribbon hair clip, but then again. Aigis was a robot. "I-I know you said you don't really like your hair color. So I figured it might draw some attention away from that." That was mostly a lie. "I... just thought it might look good on you."
Kisa stared down at the clip, eyes wide and fingers gently tracing along the shape of the hair ornament. It reminded her of the bows her mother had used to thread into her hair, but this one had a special meaning. He'd gone to the trouble of getting this just for her?
She closed her fingers over the clip and held it to her chest, smiling at him. "It's... really pretty. Thank you, Ken-kun." And then she paused, adding in a softer voice, "... Can I try it now?"
He blinked a few times before breaking into a smile. She liked it--that was relief. Though he'd always be a little confused about why she thought she needed to ask permission. "Sure--I mean... I gave it to you, you can do whatever you want with it."
She wasn't sure just how to put it into words, that she didn't want to keep him waiting if he had other things to do, but she nonetheless looked apologetic as she ran her fingers through her hair and found a good spot to secure the clip.
Kisa was still too shy to outright ask how it looked, but there was a nervous air about her when she glanced back at Ken. What if it looked weird with her hair? Or maybe she'd put it in wrong--
