Who: Shadow the Hedgehog and Rouge the Bat Where: Union Cave When: Monday, Jan. 24th Summary: On their way to the next town, Azalea Town. But first, the cave. Rating: PG right now. Log: ( Move it or loose it )
Shadow was still incredibly curious about that egg, but he chose not to speak about it. He didn't want to initiate conversation with her that easily, or to look like the curious sort towards her, despite being immensely curious about certain people.
He looked at the cave, then began to walk towards the entrance, speaking to Rouge without turning his head.
"I expect they would. The path to each Gym requires a certain amount of skill." Shadow replied, placing his hand to the cave wall. If the place was already illuminated, he didn't have to concern himself with Houndoom lighting the place for them.
His expression turned to one of interest, thinking about what Pokemon might be inside this cavern. Catching some would be second on his list, and he looked to Rouge.
"Let's go." The Ultimate Life form didn't waste much time in beginning to walk through the cave.
But what was this all for, Rouge wondered. Oh well, long as she can train her team for her purpose, she'll follow along with the game. Whatever is on the other side it had to be something big, perhaps treasure or, a free ticket out of here.
Rouge followed along into the cave. Inside, Rouge felt calm. Being a bat, she preferred dark places, and being human didn't change that. Even though it was illuminated already, her sight didn't feel the same as it used to. She could see better than this. Great, she can be blind as a human. She looked around as they walked in.
Being a hedgehog usually, Shadow also enjoyed dark places, but he was used to both day and night now. Neither mattered, as long as he could continue towards his goals. Though that seemed to be halted for now as long as he was in this world. At least he could experience new things for the time being.
Some nearby rocks looked climbable, and he wasted no time in climbing over each of them, before turning to wait for Rouge.
"You must be frustrated not being able to utilize your abilities here, Rouge the Bat."
He did not, Rouge stares up at him after he climbed up the rocks. She grinned as she climbed up. "My Shadow, that's awfully nice to worry about my concern."
With a soft "hmph", Shadow turned and continued walking, hopping over some rocks as he went, "I assure you that's not the case." Though, there was a sound that startled him a bit... It seemed when he stepped on one of the rocks, it growled at him.
"Hm?"
Said rock suddenly stood up on two arms, and had quite the nasty look about it, "Geo dude!!"
Shadow took a step back, taking out a Pokeball. "It looks like a Pokemon." From reading the trainer manual, Shadow knew that water was strong against Rock Types, but he also knew that he didn't have any water types... Houndoom was a fire type, Fearow flying, Ariados and Beedrill were both bugs and Mawile just wasn't a high enough level yet. He frowned... Houndoom would be his best bet. At least he was a high level.
"Houndoom!" Shadow called, tossing the Pokeball and summoning forth the Hellhound.
Geodude stared angrily at the Houndoom, and seemed to start ranting at it, waving its arms around in frustration. Houndoom waited for orders, unmoving.

As for Rouge, she leaned against a rock with one arm as the other elbow rests on that arm. She rests her chin on her palm and just watched the pokémon flail his hands. "Hmm, seems like he's angry about something." Which she has an idea why, but that didn't matter.
When Shadow summoned Houndoom, Rouge's eyes widen a little. According to the manual, fire doesn't do well with rock types. Rouge pulled out her Pokédex and pointed to it. "Let's see what this has to say about it." It spoke out loud:
'Geodude, the Rock type Pokémon. It uses its arms to steadily climb steep mountain paths. It swings its fists around if angered.'
Shadow knew that Fire types didn't do so well against Rock types, but they did slightly better than Flying types at least. He frowned, then pointed at the Geodude.
"Houndoom, use Fire Blast!"
The Hellhound obeyed, leaping forward and taking in a deep breath before blasting a wall of fire at the rock Pokemon. The blast engulfed Geodude, and once the Pokemon was revealed, it was slightly blackened... and even more angry.
"GEO! DUDE! DUDE DUDE!!" It cried, before lunging forward and punching Houndoom quite strongly, sending the Pokemon skidding backwards somewhat.
"Tch." Shadow gritted his teeth, "Houndoom, use Growl!" His Pokemon did just that, snarling at the Geodude, intimidating the armed-rock somewhat... Enough to cause it to back down a little at least.

Shadow was smarter than that. If he had something else that was effective, he would use it, right? When she saw Houndoom blasted the rock type, probably almost turned it black but that was it.
"Uh oh..."
From where she was, she began to walk up behind Shadow. She drew a pokéball out just in case.
Shadow didn't even bother looking at her, throwing an arm out to block her from drawing nearer. "If you want to live, you won't move another step. This is my battle."
The Geodude mustered up the strength to fight again, and rushed to attack the Houndoom, though its attack had been severely weakened. Houndoom let out short grunts of pain, but nothing too serious. Shadow grinned, "Hmph. Houndoom, weaken it with Fire Spin!"
Houndoom howled in response before suddenly blasting out a tornado of fire, encircling Geodude within, successfully BURNing the Pokemon, despite the attack not being very effective.
Shadow may not see it but Rouge leered at him. She shrugged and stood where she is to watch. Normally if it was a greater threat, she would say something. Since Geodude looked pretty simple, Rouge went ahead and stepped down.
At least the pokémon is weakening. Her eyes widen a bit when she saw the Fire Spin attack. That's one puppy not to mess with.
The Geodude looked even more angry, despite suffering from BURN, and leaped forward in a Tackle Attack, ramming itself against Houndoom. Shadow smirked, before tossing forward a PokeBall at the rock Pokemon.
There was some shaking going on... but eventually, it was still. He'd caught a blackened Geodude.
"Ultimate victory." Shadow mused to himself, appreciative of his own skill.
Good, another battle finally ended. Rouge sighs quietly to herself as she tucks her pokéball back into her belt. "They weren't kidding about finding talking rocks here. We'll probably be seeing more than just pebbles."
She walked passed him with a grin., "shall we continue?" Rouge hopped over one rock but what she didn't expect was a steep hill on the other side. A couple rocks slipped where her foot was. Next thing she knew it, she began to loose balance ready to slide on down. Rouge let out yelp.

"What do you mean?"
