Summary: His Hoothoot just evolved. Cooper doesn't like birds. Sad times might ensue. Cheer him up/distract him?

Cooper found that he could do little but stare at the oversized owl that was staring right back at him. He’d known this is what his Hoothoot would eventually turn into, but he’d somehow managed to forget just how soon it would happen until it already had.
He stepped back from the Noctowl, creating distance between himself and his partner. It had been a different matter altogether when Holmes had been a smaller, brown bird; when he hardly looked like one. Now, he did - and he was much bigger than Cooper could seem to make himself remember these creatures would be.
The rapid change had unsettled him as well, the lightning-strike speed of the so-called evolution, and to say that the agent was in a small state of shock wouldn’t be an overstatement.
The dark sky seemed to punctuate the mood slowly clouding his mind, and he let out a sigh made of steam he hadn’t realized he’d held in as he turned away from his pokémon, looking back to Violet, the route covered with snow sparkling almost gently in the moonlight.
