[All of a sudden, a shiny beam is shot off to the side, making a line of ice that is about five feet in width that stretches on for a looong distance across Violet City. Then Mammon, with the most inappropriate clothes for the winter, which was her usual uniform, was sliding across the ice on her boots at a moderate speed.]

[Kaito nearly jumps as the beam almost strikes him instead of the ground at the side, and his gaze shifts fro the snow to the... inappropriately dressed stake who is having far too much fun in the snow.

What looks like totally awesome fun, of course]

Ooooi! [lifting a hand to chase after her] Mind if I try?

It was snowing.

When Barney had first woken up that morning, the snow was the first thing he noticed, and he had lit up like a Christmas tree, just like he did every year since he was a kid, and he was filled with a desire to go and play in the snow. Age didn't matter at this point.

He'd even managed to find a snow suit for a reasonable price, and was now hastily throwing it on. This was going to be awesome. He was going to build a snow fort and throw snowballs and make a snowman and a snow angel and it was just going to be great. He loved winter. It was his favorite season.

"Ted, Snow Suit up!" He called to his pokemon, and ran out the door to enjoy the winter weather.

Kaito managed to catch Barney's form darting outside into the winter weather just in time to call out to him.

"Oooi!" he lifted a gloved hand and waved in an attempt to catch Barney's attention. It looked like Kaito wasn't the only one excited about the new change in weather.

Barney almost missed Kaito's call, having been determined to dive into the nearest snowbank to make a snow angel and start his winter extravaganza. But he realized that the call was for him, and turned quickly.

"Kaito, hey! You're back in Violet!"

This was awesome. They'd talked enough over the network, now they could actually meet in person.

Kaito grinned as he approached, his hand darting back into his pockets to protect itself from the cold (his gloves never seemed liked enough). "I've been back in Violet for a few weeks," he said with a nod once he was within speaking range (without having to yell, that is). "I was kinda looking forward to heading back to Goldenrod, but in this weather..." A laugh and a shake of his head, "Looks like my traveling group is stuck here."

[ INCOMING THIEF, KAITO. With Byrne flying overhead, because sitting on Kay's shoulder would just dislodge him. ]

It's snowing!! It's really, really snowing!!!

[HELLO Kaito is bracing himself for impact, if she is flying right at him]

It's snowing! [it wasn't the first time he had seen snow, but the weather was certainly lifting his spirits] I guess this is the first time you've seen it, right?

... It doesn't feel as fluffy as it looks, though. [ oh yeah, she's totally collided with him and is blithely continuing like nothing happened. ]

[CATCHING THEN-- and letting her got as she continues on] Snow isn't fluffy. It's frozen water, kinda like ice.

Simon and Nia had only recently arrived in Violet City. Very much on his way to the inn, Simon's hair (and the Sandshrew curled up on his head, attempting some strange form of winter hibernation) was absolutely covered in snow. He kept rubbing his nose to keep the feeling in it, and his face was bright red.

But the lack of feeling mattered little to none. Because Simon had just caught sight of someone he hadn't seen in a very long time. And with an expression Kaito had probably not seen since the two had arrived in Cherrygrove all those months ago, Simon's face lit into a bright smile, as he lifted his (admittedly frozen) hand into a wave.

"Kaito!"

Kaito's shoulders were hunched against the cold, the white flakes already sprinkled across both his tousled hair and back. But at the sound of his name in a voice he hadn't heard for quite some time, he straightened. Quickly, he glanced over in the direction the voice had come from, a cheerful grin of his own quirking up the sides of his lips.

"Simon!" he called out, his voice carrying through the air despite the snow. Hands firmly shoved in his pockets, he trotted up to the new arrival. "Geez, you look like you're freezing."

Simon stood taller than before, too. He grinned again, sheepishly, rubbing the back of his head. "Y-yeah, kinda."

... taller indeed. How fast this this boy grow? Shaking that question off for now, Kaito reached out to take the blue-haired kid by the shoulders and steer him toward the Pokemon Center. "C'mon, you need a jacket or something before you play in the snow," he pointed out, "Last thing any of us need to catch is a cold."

[Building a snowman off to the side. His area was always the one that got all the winter weather back home...]

[scooping up a bit of snow in his hands and fashioning it into a snowball, Kaito glances up just in time to see someone building a snowman on the side of the road. Perfect! People were already making use of the winter weather.

Tossing the snowball in one hand, Kaito approaches] Are you gonna name him Frosty?
