Log:
The grey skies and the on and off drizzle that had been occurring all morning were beginning to make Ciel regret choosing this day as The Day to leave the comfort of New Bark Town. He had briefly considered not leaving at all, but after a few days of observation, he realized that it wasn't a place you stayed. It was a place you left, as he'd seen a few people do. Staying would breed discontent anyway, he knew. Already he was restless, though he had some idea that that was in small part (some very small part, it wasn't like he needed him) due to his butler's absence.
It was time to leave, and he'd made up his mind the night before. It wasn't often that Ciel changed his mind. So dressed in a new set of clothes, of a tacky orange color (with zippers that turned out to be just as difficult as buttons if not more so), having adjusted to the constant musid, and armed with his new Pokémon he'd set off in the morning. Fifteen minutes out and he was wet and cold, but he refused to turn around.
Now he was faced with another dilemma. Tall grass stretched in front of him as far as he could see. Ciel, still being fairly young, wasn't very tall himself. The grass easily came up to his knees or further. And it was wet. Ciel was quickly learning that he disliked being wet. Taking a deep breath and closing his eyes for just a moment, he trudged forward into the grass. It wasn't as difficult to walk through as he'd initially thought.
He kept at it for what he felt was at least an hour, but he knew to most likely have been a few minutes before a noise made him stop. In front of him a bird creature was poking at the soggy ground with its beak. Reaching for the Pokédex he held it towards the creature. The monotone voice told him that this Pokémon was called Pidgey. He almost continued walking before freezing, and letting a slow smirk cross his features. This was the perfect time to try out this battling idea.
Reaching for the ball attached to his belt, he tossed up and watched as the Misdreavus popped out, making its now trademark noise. He caught the ball as it bounced back to him. The Pokémon floated in front of him, looking at the Pidgey with curiosity.
"Misdreavus, use Psywave on the Pidgey creature."
Misdreavus made an agreeable noise and Ciel watched as it moved forward. A strangely colored wave of what seemed like physical light shot out and caught the Pidgey knocking it back. With a squawk the bird got up to retaliate, delivering a fierce tackle. It's balance was off though. Ciel had managed to weaken it.
"Again Misdreavus." he'd instructed.
Once more the creature used Psywave. The bird had tried to dodge, but didn't get away in time and instead fell to the ground. Ciel studied the bird closely looking for any signs of movement. After there were none, he smirked. Maybe he didn't need Sebastian here afterall. At least not to defend him.
Holding out the ball once more he recalled Misdreavus. The battle had been successful and he couldn't help but be proud of himself. With a new determination he set forward through the grass again.
((ooc: Wow. Sorry for the novel of an intro tag. But Ciel's put himself out there now~!))
