Kanji’s gotten pretty used to traveling around with all of his pokemon out. Jessica flew far above his head, keeping watch for people, pokemon, and anything that could cause her trainer to get lost. Marilyn scampered ahead, occasionally hurrying back to squeal excitedly about something or other, and Katie clung to Kanji’s back, fast asleep. Nocturnal pokemon have problems with daytime traveling. Even Thomas is tagging along, floating just above Katie and glaring at Jessica. He’s taken to protecting the little spider pokemon, somewhat obsessively.

As such, it is Marilyn who gets to the pond first. Kanji pauses to check in with Jessica when she flies down to tell him that she’s spotted it, and his Pichu takes the opportunity to get ahead. She gives a delighted squeal at the sight of Misaki, who she recognizes from the pokegear. There is a person! And he has pokemon! The electric pokemon is probably far too excited to make new friends, but there’s really no arguing with her.

Kanji becomes quickly aware that Marilyn is not going to run back to him the way she usually does, and decides it’s probably best to chase after her. Jessica flies off to take the lead in the chase, and Thomas makes an annoyed noise as he tries to keep up.

Misaki was still struggling with getting all of Sentret's fur dried when the squirrel Pokémon suddenly sprang out of his hands and zipped around behind him. Looking up to see what had startled the poor thing, Misaki found a little Pichu coming his way. And... it looked familiar.

"Marilyn-san!" At least, that was the Pichu Misaki hoped he was looking at. Weedle looked up curiously from his perch and Sentret continued to glare suspiciously from behind Misaki's back.

"Sunkern?" The grass Pokémon waddled and hopped up the bank towards their trainer, but quickly ran behind his back because OH MY GOSH WAS THAT ALSO A PIDGEOTTO COMING RIGHT FOR THEM?!

"It's Jessica-san?" Misaki, smiling, stood to his feet and waved. That meant Kanji-kun was probably on his way! It felt like it had been forever since he had last seen his friend over the PokéGear. And now, they were actually going to meet in person.

Marilyn squeals happily at the sound of her name, and comes to stand at Misaki's feet. She makes tiny squeaking noises as she holds her arms out and bounces a little, asking to be picked up the way a child would. Well, she is a baby pokemon, after all.

They're quickly joined properly by Jessica, who lands on the ground a few feet behind Marilyn. She chirps a greeting and waves before turning back to clean the feathers on her wing, making soft cooing noises to herself as she does so that seem to imitate humming.

Kanji catches up shortly after his Pidgeotto, not winded at all by his run. TV world training does wonders to get you in shape. He spots Misaki and grins.

"Hey! Misaki!" He calls, and Thomas makes a strange little growling noise as his trainer runs faster than he's floating and takes Katie with him. Jessica stops preening to chirp cheerfully at her beloved trainer, but holds her spot on the ground. Marilyn doesn't seem to even notice Kanji's return, so absorbed in the new people.

So... cute! Misaki reaches down and picks up the baby Pokémon, quite happy to hold it in his arms. This Pichu at least seemed better behaved than Hong Kong's, and yeah, this definitely had to be Marilyn if she was being so friendly.

When Jessica lands, Sunkern and Bellsprout huddle even closer against the back of Misaki's legs. Although she doesn't act hostile, they seem unwilling to come away just yet. Misaki sighs. "Come on, guys. It's just Jessica-san. Don't be rude."

"Sentret!" His Pokemon had seen Kanji before his yell quite reached Misaki's ears, so he was already looking up in time to see his new friend nearing. He raised his free arm and waved, forcing his Weedle to climb down his back a little.

"Kanji-kun!" He smiled... but the closer Kanji drew, the more that smile disappeared and was replaced by an open-mouthed stare. How does a guy at least a few years younger than him get to be that tall!?!? It just wasn't fair!

Marilyn hums softly and snuggles into Misaki's arms and blinks up at him with a sweet little smile on her face. She seems content to just be held there and get acquainted with her trainer's friend in person. Jessica doesn't seem bothered by the fear the grass pokemon display- she's pretty used to this now that she's gained a reputation in this part of the forest. Kanji can only train her in one spot for so long before the native pokemon start to get frightened at the sigh of her.

Kanji reaches Misaki rather quickly- long legs and all, you know. He's grinning and laughs a little when he finally reaches his destination.

"Hey man! It's nice to finally-- wait, what's up?" It took him a moment to notice that his friend is just sorta... staring at him. It's not like people don't stare at him all the time, but its usually not his friends. He's not really aware that it might be his height- you're 6'3" and still growing, Kanji, you should be aware of this.

Marilyn is so cute! Misaki is glad to hold onto her. Makes him wish his own Pokémon were just a little cuter... well, Weedle likes to snuggle, but he's a bug, so it's a little awkward. Sunkern has decided to be brave and defend Misaki! She jumps out in front of him and gives Jessica a challenging glare! But her leaves are shaking like crazy. So Misaki reaches down and picks her up too, bundling her close to Marilyn.

"It's okay, Sunkern. I told you." He sighs. Oh, his Pokémon...

Misaki can't help it. It's just so... so... "Kanji-kun, how do you even get that tall! It's just not fair!" Kanji's what? Fifteen? Sixteen? This shouldn't even be legal!

Marilyn gives a delighted squeak when Sunkern is added to the snuggle, and gives the other pokemon a hug. She's friendly, that one. Maybe even a little bit too friendly. But I suppose its better than Thomas, who is presently... Glaring at everyone and staying as close to Katie as is physically possible. Katie, on the other hand, has spotted Weedle and is watching him with interest. She does enjoy talking to other bug types!

Kanji laughs, a touch sheepishly. "Uh... My dad was really tall. I got it from him. Kinda hopin' I've stopped growing, though, my head keeps getting cut out of pictures..." He's much less impressed by his height than most people, although, honestly, it is quiet impressive.

No such thing as an overly friendly Pokémon in Sunkern's estimation! She cuddles closer to the Pichu, happy to have such a sweet Pokémon friend! And one that can protect her from a Flying type if need be. Weedle notices both the attention from Katie and the glare from Thomas, so he's not quite sure how to react. Wiggling a little down Misaki's sweater, he blinks cautiously at the Spinarak.

Misaki realizes a little too late that maybe Kanji is aware his height is abnormal and looks away, embarrassed. "S-sorry, I kind of over-reacted." He looks back at Kanji, this time offering a big smile. Really, this isn't the time to let his silly mistake make it awkward. "I'm glad to meet you in person, Kanji-kun. I've wanted to meet with you for a long time now."

Marilyn gives a gleeful little squeak when her hug is returned(in the best way it can be by a pokemon with no arms). Ohhh, Sunkern, wait until you discover that your new buddy is best friends with that vile flying type over there. Thomas hovers over the spider as she gives him a shy little wave with one of her frontmost legs. She'd have a shy little smile if her mouth was capable of that.

"Heh, no big deal, I tower over Naoto and Rise, so I'm used to it." This is what happens when your two best friends are small females. He grins and moves forward for a quick hug- of the bro variety, of course! Just because they both like guys doesn't mean they need to get all huggy. That is reserved for his pokemon. "Yeah, its great to finally meet you!"

Misaki happily holds the dear Pokemon in his arms, glad they've become friends, but the rest may be slow in moving in that direction. Bellsprout and Sunkern will get over their fear of Jessica, once they realize how friendly she is. But Sentret... he'll probably keep gazing suspiciously at everyone from behind Misaki's shoulder. Weedle happily giggles and bobs his head towards the Spinarak in greeting. He would probably try to come closer, if Thomas wasn't so glarey today.

Misaki is a little surprised by the quick, andofcourseincrediblymanly hug Kanji pulls him into, but he reciprocates with a manly pat on his friend's back. "It feels like I've known you for a long time, although... we kind of just met recently." How time flies.

Misaki adjusted the Pokemon in his arms a little, settling them into a more comfortable hold, than smiled a little shyly at his friend. "So... you were going to show me some sewing stuff today, right?" They need to start somewhere, and with the cold weather coming in Misaki is willing to learn all he can to keep his clothing from developing holes.

Marilyn immediately begins chattering on about... Something or other, it sounds like she may be talking about food. She's a simple little thing. When Katie blushes and seems to fidget, Thomas makes an annoyed noise and hovers closer so that his cheek is almost touching hers. The little spider tilts her head at her friend, not recognizing the obvious jealousy. I mean, she's just making new friends, right? Nothing wrong with that.

BRO HUG, MAN. BRO HUG. "Yeah, I'm startin' to get used to that." He laughs. "I mean, I've known all my friends for less than a year, but it already seems like I've known them forever." He's really smiling, because this doesn't feel awkward at all, and he is not used to meeting people without the awkward aspect to it.

"Yeah! I brought stuff. And, uh, I brought snacks too." He's been remembering to bring food when traveling around to train now. What a good boy.

Sunkern chatters back at Marilyn, happy to talk about anything although she doesn't actually eat more than morning dew. She'll probably eat real food and understand the joy of it someday, maybe after she evolves into a Sunflora. Weedle becomes a little more wary and instead tries to make amends by calling out to Thomas cheerfully. He doesn't mean any harm, really.

"Oh, that right." Sometimes its hard for Misaki to imagine someone like Kanji being alone. Sure, he looks a bit scary, but since getting to know one another Misaki can only think of Kanji as one of the most encouraging friends he's ever had. "I'd like to meet your friends someday, but lets just hang out a bit for now."

"Oooh! What kind of snacks?" Yes, that is great interest in his voice. He's been munching on plain rice and wild berries for the last four days, and he was already being frugal with his diet. Even Sentret leans in a little closer, curious to see what they may have to eat now.
