As such, it is Marilyn who gets to the pond first. Kanji pauses to check in with Jessica when she flies down to tell him that she’s spotted it, and his Pichu takes the opportunity to get ahead. She gives a delighted squeal at the sight of Misaki, who she recognizes from the pokegear. There is a person! And he has pokemon! The electric pokemon is probably far too excited to make new friends, but there’s really no arguing with her.
Kanji becomes quickly aware that Marilyn is not going to run back to him the way she usually does, and decides it’s probably best to chase after her. Jessica flies off to take the lead in the chase, and Thomas makes an annoyed noise as he tries to keep up.

"Marilyn-san!" At least, that was the Pichu Misaki hoped he was looking at. Weedle looked up curiously from his perch and Sentret continued to glare suspiciously from behind Misaki's back.
"Sunkern?" The grass Pokémon waddled and hopped up the bank towards their trainer, but quickly ran behind his back because OH MY GOSH WAS THAT ALSO A PIDGEOTTO COMING RIGHT FOR THEM?!
"It's Jessica-san?" Misaki, smiling, stood to his feet and waved. That meant Kanji-kun was probably on his way! It felt like it had been forever since he had last seen his friend over the PokéGear. And now, they were actually going to meet in person.

They're quickly joined properly by Jessica, who lands on the ground a few feet behind Marilyn. She chirps a greeting and waves before turning back to clean the feathers on her wing, making soft cooing noises to herself as she does so that seem to imitate humming.
Kanji catches up shortly after his Pidgeotto, not winded at all by his run. TV world training does wonders to get you in shape. He spots Misaki and grins.
"Hey! Misaki!" He calls, and Thomas makes a strange little growling noise as his trainer runs faster than he's floating and takes Katie with him. Jessica stops preening to chirp cheerfully at her beloved trainer, but holds her spot on the ground. Marilyn doesn't seem to even notice Kanji's return, so absorbed in the new people.

When Jessica lands, Sunkern and Bellsprout huddle even closer against the back of Misaki's legs. Although she doesn't act hostile, they seem unwilling to come away just yet. Misaki sighs. "Come on, guys. It's just Jessica-san. Don't be rude."
"Sentret!" His Pokemon had seen Kanji before his yell quite reached Misaki's ears, so he was already looking up in time to see his new friend nearing. He raised his free arm and waved, forcing his Weedle to climb down his back a little.
"Kanji-kun!" He smiled... but the closer Kanji drew, the more that smile disappeared and was replaced by an open-mouthed stare. How does a guy at least a few years younger than him get to be that tall!?!? It just wasn't fair!

Kanji reaches Misaki rather quickly- long legs and all, you know. He's grinning and laughs a little when he finally reaches his destination.
"Hey man! It's nice to finally-- wait, what's up?" It took him a moment to notice that his friend is just sorta... staring at him. It's not like people don't stare at him all the time, but its usually not his friends. He's not really aware that it might be his height- you're 6'3" and still growing, Kanji, you should be aware of this.

"It's okay, Sunkern. I told you." He sighs. Oh, his Pokémon...
Misaki can't help it. It's just so... so... "Kanji-kun, how do you even get that tall! It's just not fair!" Kanji's what? Fifteen? Sixteen? This shouldn't even be legal!

Kanji laughs, a touch sheepishly. "Uh... My dad was really tall. I got it from him. Kinda hopin' I've stopped growing, though, my head keeps getting cut out of pictures..." He's much less impressed by his height than most people, although, honestly, it is quiet impressive.

Misaki realizes a little too late that maybe Kanji is aware his height is abnormal and looks away, embarrassed. "S-sorry, I kind of over-reacted." He looks back at Kanji, this time offering a big smile. Really, this isn't the time to let his silly mistake make it awkward. "I'm glad to meet you in person, Kanji-kun. I've wanted to meet with you for a long time now."

"Heh, no big deal, I tower over Naoto and Rise, so I'm used to it." This is what happens when your two best friends are small females. He grins and moves forward for a quick hug- of the bro variety, of course! Just because they both like guys doesn't mean they need to get all huggy. That is reserved for his pokemon. "Yeah, its great to finally meet you!"

Misaki is a little surprised by the quick, andofcourseincrediblymanly hug Kanji pulls him into, but he reciprocates with a manly pat on his friend's back. "It feels like I've known you for a long time, although... we kind of just met recently." How time flies.
Misaki adjusted the Pokemon in his arms a little, settling them into a more comfortable hold, than smiled a little shyly at his friend. "So... you were going to show me some sewing stuff today, right?" They need to start somewhere, and with the cold weather coming in Misaki is willing to learn all he can to keep his clothing from developing holes.

BRO HUG, MAN. BRO HUG. "Yeah, I'm startin' to get used to that." He laughs. "I mean, I've known all my friends for less than a year, but it already seems like I've known them forever." He's really smiling, because this doesn't feel awkward at all, and he is not used to meeting people without the awkward aspect to it.
"Yeah! I brought stuff. And, uh, I brought snacks too." He's been remembering to bring food when traveling around to train now. What a good boy.

"Oh, that right." Sometimes its hard for Misaki to imagine someone like Kanji being alone. Sure, he looks a bit scary, but since getting to know one another Misaki can only think of Kanji as one of the most encouraging friends he's ever had. "I'd like to meet your friends someday, but lets just hang out a bit for now."
"Oooh! What kind of snacks?" Yes, that is great interest in his voice. He's been munching on plain rice and wild berries for the last four days, and he was already being frugal with his diet. Even Sentret leans in a little closer, curious to see what they may have to eat now.
