It was another ordinary day in the land of Johto, waiting for Zack to get back from his adventure with the Unowns, and for Angeal to show up so she could meet him. Aerith was keeping herself busy with her small, but colorful flower patch. Those stupid Unowns, crushing her flowers with their stupid crystals. It didn't even bother her anymore that they were the cause of her being separated from Zack, things would always keep them apart for periods of time and he would always come back. What did bother her was that the inconsiderate pokémon decided to ruin her flowers. If they ever came back, there would be hell to pay.

Suddenly, her pokégear rang. She hadn't often used it as a phone, so she was a little surprised at the sudden noise. After picking it up, she looked at the caller ID. Angeal! Quickly, she answered the phone.

"Hello!"

"Aerith," he chimed happily. "It's Angeal. I said I would call when I got to Violet."

It had been awhile since they made the plan and he apparently felt like it was necessary that he reminded her, in case she had forgotten about him.

"I know, I'm so glad you called!" She laughed. Of course she remembered. It's not every day you get to meet your boyfriend's mentor, after all. "Where are you? I can come find you."

"I'm actually just by the entrance to the city, next to the first hotel." Xander howled in the background, chasing after something. Angeal chuckled before speaking back up. "I wanted Xander to get comfortable in this city before we started to explore."

"It sounds like he's pretty comfortable already." The dog pokémon sounded like he was having a great time, and it made Aerith smile. "I'll be there soon!" And with that, she shut off the phone.

It took only a moment to gather her things, she had just her pokégear and backpack with her for the time being. Oddish and Flora had rooted in the ground next to her flowers, Omari was in the water, and Astra, looking a bit deflated, was taking a nap. As soon as she was ready, she waved to her pokémon and assured them she'd be right back. Time to go find Angeal!

"He's getting there." It sounded almost sentimental. "Alright, I'll see you then."

He hung up as well, clipping the Gear back on his pants and whistling to his puppy. "Xander, get over here; you're going to get yourself in trouble." Xac barked and ran over to Angeal, jumping up on his leg, scratching with his paws. "What, you want to play?" That got him another bark, and when Angeal grabbed the ball out of his bag and threw it down the road, Xander took off to retrieve it. Chances were that when Aerith showed up to get him, Angeal was chancing the puppy, trying to get the ball back.

As predicted, Aerith found herself staring at a man and his dog. There was really no more appropriate response than to watch for a few more moments before giggling at the scene. Although she knew this would be an important moment, it was a little hard to take it seriously with Angeal running around that way. Maybe that was for the best.

"Angeal!" She waved from her spot nearby, trying to get his attention.

Angeal stopped running and looked over to the voice, a little embarrassed at first before laughing and walking over to her, Xander bounding behind him. "Aerith, it's nice to finally see you." He paused, with a smile. "I'm sorry you had to see that,"

With a shake of her head she replied, "It's alright, dogs can be a little bit of a handful sometimes...It really is great to see you in person!" She looked at Xander and gave him a smile of his own. "And it's nice to meet you, too."

"So...you just got here, right? It's a lot bigger than Cherrygrove, isn't it?" she asked, gesturing towards the rest of the city. It really was bigger, too. As the cities got bigger, Aerith felt a little more at home, so Violet was a nice place to stay for so long.

"Especially puppies," He glanced down to Xander, secretly, or maybe not so much, talking about Zack. But when Aerith addressed Xander, he barked happily in return, his tail wagging. "-- I think he likes you."

"We did, I just got a room maybe half an hour ago." He looked around as he motioned. "It is. I haven't been very far, but it feels bigger than Cherrygrove did."

She caught the implication and giggled a little before giving Angeal a knowing look. "You're right..." As he continued speaking, she squatted down to be at Xander's level and ruffled his fur gently. "Do you think so...? He's really cute!"

After listening to his comments about his arrival in Violet, she looked up from her place near Xander. "I can show you around, if you want."

"I do think so." He chuckled as Xander sniffed and licked at her hand, turning to lean against her.

Angeal looked a little shocked at the offer and after a moment nodded. "That would be great, thank you."

After one last pet of the dog pokémon, Aerith stood up again and brushed off her dress. "Okay, just follow me!"

It was nice to be able to show Angeal around, being a tour guide of sorts was pretty fun. Violet City almost felt like home after spending so much time there. She walked him past the pokécenter, and pointed out the small house where a family lived. Then, she walked past the ledges and into the main part of town.

"There's the pokémon school, and down that path is Sprout Tower. And...if we walk this way..." she led him a little farther towards Sprout Tower until they were next to the water, and a small but colorful patch of flowers. Her pokémon were waiting there, Flora and Oddish rooted near the flowers, Omari in the lake, and Astra floating around all of them. "These are my flowers!"

I'm just failing everywhere lfmad---

Angeal followed, though Xander stayed at Aerith's heels the entire time they were being showed around. He was making mental notes as they went by the pokecenter and school, as they were places he'd probably end up visiting while he was here.

But when they got to the flower patch, with the sight of the pokemon, Angeal couldn't help but smile. And out of all the the pokemon there, Xander seemed to take the most interest in Astra; running up and jumping, trying to play with the other pokemon. "They're very beautiful," he mentioned walking over to them. "But what happened?" Honestly it looked like a dog ran though the patch, ripping up most of the flowers.
