[Meanwhile, in a time period roughly half an hour or so before Johan gives his almost dramatic speech-- We find Johan! Chilling outside the lair/cave, waiting for people to arrive. He looks up at the sky, thinking about how he can't wait to watch the stars with Kay again, but ultimately is just standing there in silence. For this is our pre-rescue thread, and he can't do anything here on his own! So let's go wild and have at it guys.]

[He didn't feel the need to respond to the speech, since Johan already knows Beat's been looking. Instead, he spends the first half of that half hour explaining what's going on to his little sister, and then hustling over]

...

[and... he's only communicated with Johan via audio and text, but he doesn't see anyone else, so he approaches the silent fellow]

Yo! This the rescue party?

[Blinking a few times-- And even though they haven't communicated fact to face, Beat's a got a voice that is pretty damn hard to mistake for someone else's. Johan offers him a small smile and nods.]

That's right. You're Beat, right?

Yup. And that makes you Johan, I guess.

[he pauses, looking around again as if he'd find people hiding. But really, he's just an impatient kind of guy.]

[Luckily, Johan's not only used to that type, he's getting to be that way himself. So he just nods, pointing towards the cave-- And that mere motion sets off a few cries from inside. They're being watched.]

Yeah, this is it.

Whoa, they sound pissed.

... Yeah. I think whoever took Kay did something to them.

[For awhile, Heather was kind of nervous about keeping the volume on her 'Gear up. It was stupid. The thing didn't exactly blast out radio static on a regular basis, right? But it was just instinct, and for the past day or so, she's been hunting around with her nerves all a-jitter solely because she was expecting it to start screeching any moment. But she couldn't afford to turn it off-- lest she miss any updates on the search. Lord knows she wasn't exactly having a ton of luck herself. Her only comfort was she'd been able to find Luke and Harry and that they were safe at least.]

[Needless to say, Johan's sudden message startled the heck out of her, but HERE SHE COMES.]

Hey!

[A few assorted pebbles and bits of dislodged loam patter to the ground as Heather comes skidding down the hill towards the cave, a little out of breath. She looks tired and dirty-- though that's no surprise. NONE of them would be winning any neatness contests today, after all. Behind her, Arty the Furret slides down as well

[Johan looks up as Heather arrives, and it's obvious she's out of it-- Heck, he's out of it too, so he can't going to really comment. He does pull out a bottle of water and hold it out to her, though.] Hey-- Here, you look like you could use this.

Yeah, she's in there. [He looks up at a Golbat that's lurking around somewhere-- Kay's Golbat, to be exact.] Jam's positive of it.

[She took the bottle gratefully. Leisurely strolling down the road to the next town was one thing, but charging all over the place turning over every stone (okay, well, that was a BIT of an exaggeration) was another. She was just a little winded, though.]

Thanks... nice place to take kidnapped kids. Quaint. [It probably doesn't even need to be stated that she said this with a wry, not-terribly-mirthful tone.]

[Taking a swig of the water and then pouring a little into her cupped hand to splash over the back of her neck, she looked into the cave dubiously. It was easy to stay hopeful while searching, but now that they were confronted with this... it was easy to tell by Heather's expression that she was worried they might find the worst.]

D'you know how many others are coming?

[Beat's curious about that too. If they hadn't communicated solely by text, he'd be surprised to see Heather here, but as it were he has no idea.]

Yeah, who we waitin' for?

[Likewise! Oh man, wait till she figures out she and the Rick-Roller wound up being busy trying to help the same person? Bricks will be shat. ... Okay, no, not really, but she will be pretty amused. That is, after this whole thing is over...]

[She cracks her knuckles and stretches her arms over her head.]

I know Kaito's coming... but I'm not sure who else is still in the area...

Dang, I don't know anyone here. What kinda pokemon does everyone have?

[not that he really is thinking enough to plot around who has what, but he at least knows to keep G-Dawg behind the water types while they're in a narrow tunnel...]

[Heather points to her Deathweasel Furret. Unfortunately, that's the most firepower she's got... because she's not planning on letting Cujo out and potentially blowing their cover... if they'll HAVE any cover.]
