Who: Melfina [used_withdraw], OPEN! Where: Violet City Pokemon Center When: Early evening. Summary: EGGS EGGS EGGS EGGS EGGS EGGS. Is the summary. :I Rating: E for everyone! :D Except you, Cobraaaa.
Ammy had just made it into Violet earlier that day. She had been taking it slowly while traveling and taking frequent rests, still getting used to walking and all, but she had made it. And her partners hadn't seemed to mind - while she rested her legs, they had gotten to battle, so it was all good.
Having heard the previous day about the eggs that would be available, she couldn't help but be a bit curious. All Pokémon hatched from eggs, even the mammals? It sounded fascinating, and so she decided that she would at least see what the eggs looked like. Maybe even take one in, if permitted.
She found the stand where the eggs were displayed soon after they were put up - Sumiko walked next to her, to help her in case she lost her balance, but she hoped she wouldn't need it. She approached, and looked the eggs over curiously.
Tofu didn't hesitate in sounding the alarm when the peculiar, delicate-looking woman passed through the doors of the Center, indicating to Melfina to put on her friendliest face.
Strangely enough, nearly all of her Pokemon ceased their chores to wander closer to the newcomer with a level of their own curiosity (except for Gilliam Bit, who was too shy to do anything except admire her from afar and Tofu, who was oblivious to everything except finding new victims to squawk at).
Melfina glanced at her enthralled team with interest before smiling at the quiet woman, fidgeting a little. She probably had a way with animals...
"... Hello, miss. Would you like to adopt an egg?"
All of the Pokémon accompanying the woman with the eggs were species that Ammy had never seen, but their presence made her feel a little more at ease. They were beautiful, in her opinion. (Not that there were any creatures that weren't, but.)
Smiling, Ammy nodded in response to the woman's question. It took her a moment, and it came out slightly slower than might normally be expected, but she answered verbally as well. "I would like to, please."
It was still strange to speak, and even stranger to speak to a human face to face - she'd done so over the video once or twice, and she had spoken to her partners, but this was different. Still, she wasn't about to let any challenge defeat her, and learning to speak like a human was just another challenge.
Mistaking the woman's concentration for formality, she nodded once amiably, deciding it would be best to speak a little bit more slowly herself. Like the kind stranger with the unusual eyes.
"That's wonderful... Take your time."
Candy had somehow made her way to the stranger's feet and raised her little pink paws with a whine, hoping to be held.
"Is there any sort of Pokemon you're looking for? They're all very different."
"What kinds are there?" she asked, going somewhat slowly still as to make sure she was saying each word right. "I'm still unfamiliar with most of them."
She heard the whine by her feet and looked downward. The pink one wanted to be held, it seemed. Carefully, Ammy bent down to get closer to it - her legs complained, not used to doing this, but she shifted them a little under her kimono to keep her balance (the good thing about the somewhat heavy robes was that they also helped, to a small extent, in the right situations); then, when she was sure of herself, she reached out to pick the Pokémon up like it wished.
The air-light little Clefairy leapt eagerly into the woman's open arms with a peep of glee, receiving jealous stares from the rest of the Pokemon in the room.
"Oh... Candy simply adores you. Ah, let me see... Normal-type, Flying, Fire, Poison, Ghost, Water... I think that's it."
So Candy was her name. "She's lovely," Ammy said quietly, patting Candy gently. And she meant it.
Normal, Flying, Fire, Poison, Ghost, and Water. And her own were Normal, a combination of Grass and Flying, and a combination of Ghost and Flying. It was probably a good idea to have multiple types available, at least from what she understood of how things worked.
Fire, though. Fire was like the sun. Fire produced light and warmth that allowed life to flourish.
"What is the Fire one like?" she asked, still careful to make sure that she was speaking correctly.
Picking up the bright orange egg with her sleeves carefully protecting her hands, she offered it to the trainer.
"It's quite warm to the touch... This one's father has a very bossy personality. But he does very well in battle. The baby form that will hatch from this egg is called Magby. It will grow to learn moves like Flamethrower, Smog, and Ember."
There was a stroke of luck. She certainly seemed very diligent in making her decision, so... there was a pretty good chance that the Magby would be right in his or her element when he or she hatched.
"If that's what you want, then it belongs to you."
"Thank you. I will take good care of it," she responded with a smile. She very much looked forward to seeing the birth of a new Pokémon, a new life, into the world, and she fully intended to take care of it to the best of her ability.
...Didn't people usually introduce themselves to one another? Of course they did. And as Ammy thought of that, she decided that she probably should work on actually doing so with those she met. She'd gotten used to Issun introducing her for her, or others coming up for their own names for her, but that wasn't going to work here, really.
"My name is Amaterasu," she added after a few moments.
"Melfina. Yours is a beautiful name as well." It was a name that was unlike those of most of the people of Nippon, and thus not like those to which she was accustomed, but it still sounded nice.
"It would be nice, if we could keep in touch," she agreed. And she would try to make sure she did so. She knew how the Pokégear worked, after all, even if she still poked slowly at the keys when she typed. "It has been nice to meet you."

Melfina dictated each syllable very carefully, making sure to commit it to memory so she wouldn't have to ask again...
"That's a beautiful name. I'm Melfina..."
It was always so much nicer to introduce herself in person.
"I hope we can keep in touch, Amaterasu... If that's okay with you."
