Lacus was silent when he said those words and slowly smiled. It seemed she was not the only one thinking these thoughts. She couldn't help but giggle, trying very hard to quickly stifle it with very little success. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to laugh. But oddly, I was just thinking the exact same thing."
"Then, I really must than him for his hard work," she said, admiring the pretty arrangement of flowers. For a moment, her eyes became very sad as her hands touched a bouquet of white roses. She made a very quick recovery though and gave Eagle a bright smile. "Yes, they are. I was almost afraid I had forgotten how to make them. I am so glad I didn't." They were strawberry-flavored macaroons. They are soft and practically melts in your mouth. The choice to use chocolate had been very last minute, but because Eagle mentioned he liked sweet things --- she thought it wouldn't hurt to add chocolate.
Putting the container on the table, she opens it and offered them to Eagle. "Would you like to try one?"
A few seconds later, Mister Pink followed. Seeing Eagle, he gave Eagle a wave and ran towards him. Out of all Lacus's male friends, he had to admit that Eagle was one of the people he liked most. Most likely because of his very strong similarities to Lacus.
"Eagle, hi!"
Of course to them, Mister simply said, "Igglybuff!"
Lacus asked, "Geo? It is a friend of yours?"
Curious, Lacus stepped closer for a better look at the sweets. They were indeed very odd looking and nothing she had ever seen before back home, but it only fed her curiosity more. She chose to try one of the oddly-shaped round ones and puts it in her mouth.
She closed her eyes and slowly smiled. The flavor was certainly different. Not in a terrible way. It was sweet... and pleasant, but different. Seeing Lacus obviously pleased with it, Mister Pink tugs on the skirt of her dress. Understanding what he wanted, Lacus picks another sweet from the container, she kneels down and offers one to Mister Pink. "Here you go, Mister Pink. Would you like to try one too?"

“It’s fine, it is funny that we were thinking the same thing!” They were very much alike it seemed. “Maybe you are more used to being around people too?”
As Lacus crossed the room and examined the flowers, her demeanor change did not go unnoticed. Eagle was very observant of people and their reactions to things. Part of what made him such a good Commander was his ability to read other people. What was it about white roses in particular that made her so suddenly changed? It was tempting to ask about it but that would be prying and this was supposed to be a happy occasion, so when Mr. Pink arrived Eagle used the opportunity to shift his attention to the joyful looking Pokemon, to kneel and greet him properly.
“Hello again. I’m glad I can finally meet you too.” A smile just for Mister Pink.
Eagle really had never found a Pokemon he didn’t like either, which considering his planet wasn’t well known for having many animals, was something of a surprise. He didn’t really have much experience with animals.
To Lacus question, Eagle stands and walks over to where she and her tin of treats were waiting.
“Of course I do. You went to all of the trouble to make these and I am very curious about them. I enjoy trying new things, but sweets are … something I am especially weak to.”
The cute round… were they a cookie of some kind? They certainly looked like one. The best way of finding out more about this treat was of course to try one. Pink and adorable, much like the girl who had baked them, the macaroons had, what to Eagle, was an unusual flavor. Strawberry, some kind of fruit from Earth.
It was sweet and very interesting… yes, it was decided.
“These are really good. I had no idea you were such a fine baker!” Anyone who can make sweet things like this must be a master chef in Eagle’s opinion, likely because he himself was such a poor cook. “Do you cook very often?”
At her question, “Yes. Geo and I grew up together on Autozam. I suppose I was lucky that he was able to arrive here as well.” Even if that did leave his ship without a Commander… “It would be a lot more lonely if he and Bakura weren’t traveling with me.”
Eagle watched quietly as the Pokemon and trainer sampled the candy before moving over to a chair and pulling it back to offer it for Lacus to sit on. “So, how do you two like them? Different than anything you have had before?”

In a very rare and friendly manner, Mister Pink reached both its small arms up asking to be picked up by Eagle. Yes, Mister Pink is very rarely this sincerely nice to anyone else. Especially when they are male. For some strange reason --- Mister Pink wasn't very fond of males.
Though he was nice enough to Athrun and Shinn --- except for a little bit of name calling and taking advantage of the fact that they couldn't understand him.
It was silly, but Lacus felt a little nervous when Eagle had his first bite. She tried them herself and she knew they tasted just fine. It was more likely that she was nervous because she had not made these in a long time. She only seemed to relax when he gave his compliment. "Thank you. I was not sure if I had done them right. It has been a while since I made these." She closes the container and puts them aside for his to enjoy later. "Yes. I cook for everyone at home. I am honestly quite fond of cooking. You would be surprised by what you can do with just a bit of ingredients."
She was happy to hear that Eagle wasn't here alone. "It sounds like you have really good friends," she said, bending down to give Mister Pink one of the small round candies. He, of course, opened his mouth happily. Then clapping his hands, asking for another one. "It also seems that your friend is very good at making sweets as well. Mister Pink seems to like them very much."
But she shook her head, no, to Mister Pink. It wouldn't be good to eat his fill on sweets when tea was about to start. Mister Pink gave a disappointed pout, but nods... then went off back to Eagle again.
She nods, sitting down on the seat Eagle pulled for her. Though she wasn't sure how to describe the foreign taste with words, but she tried. "They are very different, but very delicious. Though very sweet, it isn't overwhelmingly sweet."
[ ooc: xD and again, sorry for being so slow! ]

“Cabin by the beach?” He asked while shh-ing Mr. Pink, who really seemed as enthusiastic about sweet things as he was. “That does sound like a nice place to visit for a while.”
Only after Mr. Pink had successfully eaten that extra treat did Eagle move to give the Pokemon a seat at the table too. There was a nice seat by Lacus that he made sure the Pokemon settled into before taking his own seat on the other side of the table.
“I’m not sure that I could stay in one place for quiet that long. I enjoy getting into trouble a little too much.” He was kidding, but that was still true. Eagle loved adventure, getting into battles, and outsmarting the enemy… and fortunately Johto had a lot of that to offer even if the kind of battles here generally weren’t as world changing.
“It is a good thing you cook so well, if you had to watch after as many people as that on your world.” A cabin full of children… that sounded like a challenge Eagle wouldn’t care for. He really hadn’t had too much experience with children. “Was it some kind of shelter or maybe a camp?”
He takes the time to pour three cups of tea which of course he handed out to Lacus, himself, and Mr. Pink. He hadn’t yet met a Pokemon who didn’t like tea.
“I will have to make sure to let Geo know his efforts were appreciated!” Eagle sounds positively thrilled about this idea. “He was pretty nervous about them. As you can probably imagine, finding ingredients from Autozam in a place like Johto wasn’t easy. I think he had to substitute a few things… but I think they came out really well too.” Playful smile appears, “Much better than the batch he accidentally made with too much salt in them.”
[OOC: No, no, you’re fine! I don’t think this is slow for a log at all! ^^]

Mister Pink liked being fed sweet things --- and most of all, he likes being spoiled. So he was enjoying being fed and spoiled by these two people. Eagle didn't have to apologize for ignoring him. Mister Pink was as fickle as a ten year old. Probably more.
When he was done with his treat and Eagle gave him a comfortable seat, his eyes darted to the food on the table and tea. Aqua the Polywag was going to be so jealous. That was what he thought. Though Aqua didn't really care much for that. He cheered and quietly began enjoying his tea when he was finally served.
"It was our home for two years, but later... we had to move," she admitted, though she wasn't sure if it was alright to mention about the Second War and a space colony crashing into Earth and destroying their home. "It has a wonderful view of the sunrise and the sunset. The children and I used to sit on the porch and... watch as the sun rises and sets. Kira... enjoys watching them too. "
Lacus gave a nod and accepted the tea and watched the steam rise. The smell was soothing and there was something calming about watching the steam rise from the cup.
"An orphanage," she said. "Reverand Malchio, the priest that Kira and I are living with... care for the children whose parents died... in the war. I can never replace their mothers... but I try my best for them to keep them happy. It is a sad thing to lose so many important people while so young."

Eagle always thought she was a kind and gentle kind of person but discovering that she had been taking care of orphaned children on her world? Well, just further proof of that!
“It is very kind of you to try and look after those children. When horrible things happen kids do need some one kind to hold onto until they can sort out their feelings.”
He really had no experience with children himself, but Eagle understood this much about kids. They needed love and understanding, especially during tough times.
Eagle paused then to put a little sugar into his own tea and stir the mixture a bit with a spoon until the sugar had properly dissolved. Apparently he preferred sweet tea.
“I imagine there isn’t a Pokemon around that you wouldn’t take care of too?”
Unless she was afraid of ghosts or bugs or some other cute weakness like that. He could see her taking in lost Pokemon just as she did with lost children.
He hadn’t yet done so, it had been an oversight, but Eagle now offers the lady and her Pokemon something to eat. There were any number of interesting things there on the table and Mr. Pink was obviously excited by the idea of trying to sample them all. Maybe a finger sandwich of some kind, then they could all try the desserts later on? He makes sure to politely hand them anything they want especially if it was out of their reach.

It was difficult, but the result was very much worth it. Now the children were playing together. Coordinator and Natural. They couldn't forget their parents, but at least now they wish for peace as much as she did. "But," she smiled. "I wanted to. I lost my father too, so I knew what they were going through."
Fortunately, no. Lacus was not afraid of ghosts or bugs. After living through a war and almost getting shot so many times --- such fears do seem silly. "Eh? Of course. How could I leave a Pokemon alone, knowing it cannot fend for itself?"
Mister Pink waved his arms and pointed to the finger sandwich. He wanted one. Clearly. Looking at both Lacus and Eagle. Oh yes, much more hungry for attention than food.

Even her response to the question about Pokemon. Of course she would want to help. Yes, it was true then and Eagle had no trouble saying so.
“You must be a very strong person.”
Mister Pink was a cute little attention hog, so of course he was smiled at again as he was given that very sandwich he pointed at. Pokemon were cute… all pink Pokemon doubly so!
“I was glad to find out that at least here in Johto there really isn’t much conflict to speak of. Occasionally I have heard rumors about a group called ‘Team Rocket’ but they don’t appear to be very active and actually most of the people I have met that were members of that group were very nice.”
It was… relaxing not to have to worry about fighting all of the time. Or at least not to have to worry about war, there were still the much tamer Pokemon battles to play with.
