[reimprovise]

[he's fair unassuming, because really, what is there to see mid-day in front of a pokemon center? as it is now, he's actually gearing up for a potential match with Morty, feeling a tad whimsical and all in all considering which sort of a line-up to use. therefore, he's not particularly paying attention as he walks through the double doors.

there is a misdreavus stalking him from behind, her smile ramped up to a 7.5 on the scale of troll. she is holding, as it stands, a hair iron.

let's hope Fuji isn't too particularly attached to his hair.]

[ he might therefore also miss the quiet whisper of fetch, though the Flareon certainly isn't being innocuous as he comes circling over and, in one massive leap, goes for the hair iron.

What, it won't burn him. ]

[reimprovise]

[well, he certainly notices the blur of Flareon flashing by. a surprised blink as he turns back to see a misdreavus making soft screechy noises, trying to shake a flareon off of a hair iron. he blinks twice, the implications not quite settling in.

and then, a snort, as he crouches down next to the two pokemon and the hair iron, amused.]

Oh, my hero.

[restardom]

[ Pepper backs up a bit, shaking his head like a dog trying to win a game of Tug-of-War, and doesn't relinquish his grip when he glances up at Fuji. There goes his plume of a tail, wagging furiously. Hi, Fuji, hi hi hi-- ]

[reimprovise]

[... well, so long as the Flareon has a hair iron in mouth, it can't possibly burn him, right? right.

mmmm now that he takes a closer look. aloud--]

You seem familiar, don't you. [where has he seen a Flareon with fur just like-- a quirked eyebrow] Pepper?

[restardom]

[ a muffled yip this time, a pleased one, and he ducks his head enough to nudge Fuji's hand. ]

[reimprovise]

[surprise! he takes a moment to draw his hand back a little to ensure that it's a friendly gesture and not, say, an attempt to take his finger off. when it doesn't look like he's getting bitten anytime soon, he gingerly pets the pokemon awkwardly. with his other hand, he dislodges the hair iron from the misdreavus, and after giving her an apologetic coo, lets the flareon have it.

the misdreavus settles in his hair, amiable. after a moment--]

You know... [and here he looks up, glancing about the pokemon center. it seems like he's searching for a certain someone--]

[ Pepper's grown rather fond of his new hair iron chew toy, gnawing playfully on it, but he suddenly remembers that he had an order to follow, and he's only completed half of it. While Fuji's looking around, he's trotting unerringly over to the pigtailed girl receiving a Pokéball from Nurse Joy. She thanks the woman, pockets it, and turns to give the Flareon a good ruffling. ]

Good boy! But we need to give that back now.

[reimprovise]

[ah, that voice. he doesn't even have to look back to know that the Flareon's trotted off. getting up from his crouch, he turns to the source, Misdreavus chewing on his hair amiably.]

You sure he doesn't want to keep it? Besides, [he glances up a little at the Misdreavus, who does a fantastic impression of a purr] I think I have a few spares lying around.

[restardom]

All your ghosts are into them? [ clearly not at all surprised, Rise slowly shakes her head and lets Pepper have his toy. He's been patient, might as well. ] Well, he's probably more prepared to handle it than some of my others.

[reimprovise]

Recent fad. Really, Gengars can be such trend-setters. [walking up to her while keeping an eye on the Flareon, somewhat fondly. what a cute pokemon.] I don't think he particularly needs it, though. He has very stylish fur.

[restardom]

[ and this one won't bite him, considering he's dropping his iron, nuzzling Rise's legs and then going to do the same for Fuji's before he trots off to snuggle with his new favorite attention-getter. Rise watches him go, sporting an affectionate smile. ]

It's all natural, too.

[reimprovise]

Some people have all the luck. [a muffled chuckle.] Compared to people like that, someone like me really can only get by with a little bit of preparation.

[doesn't look like he's going to ask her why she's here, really. as he says this, he's reaching into his satchel to produce a small, opaque container. opening it, he fishes out a yellow flower, brittle.]

[restardom]

[ knowing Fuji, he can probably guess what would drive Rise out of Goldenrod, but she doesn't exactly offer explanations right off the bat. Instead, she tracks his movements, eyes lighting on the flower. ]

I don't think your hair takes that much fussing.

[reimprovise]

I didn't realize it, either. But then again, I suppose that's what older sisters are there for.

[he holds it out to her, carefully, and maybe, just a little proudly.] Part three, to finish.

... You remembered! And it's so pretty--

[ it's a little more exuberant than OH YAY A FLOWER, half because it's from Fuji, and the other half is because she truly, honestly needed something to smile about that she didn't need to ponder on before bringing it up to the rest of the group. But she's alight now, reaching out just as carefully to take the flower. ]
