The move has occurred, with the following hairy bits which I will condense for you thusly:
1) ordered uhaul one size too small
2) property manager of old place is a raging bitch
3) had to defuse dad argument with uhaul guy via smoove negotiating skillz
4) mandatory Ikea argument/headache
5) Comcast guy disconnects new landlords RCN cable, kafka-esque phone conversations ensue
However, it is more pleasant to focus on the positives, no?
1) lots and lots of windows all surrounded by molding
2) built-in china cabinet = bar
3) hardwood floors
4) landlord is sweet as pie
5) can walk to 2 bars, 4 pizza places, 5 middle eastern restaurants, 1 7-11, 3 hair salons, 1 nail salon, 3 laundromats... etc etc etc. Stop for bus line to Harvard Square visible from front porch.
6) Target and grocery store within walking distance/under 5 minute drive
7) tons of storage (though, it must be noted, little closet space... it's an old house)
Basically? I don't want to move. I want to stay here - preferably in this neighborhood - for, well, the foreseeable future. Let's just say I hope Dan gets a job in the Boston area... because I really really really don't want to leave in a year.
