when hope was high and life worth living )
This is not a happy dream.
The little girl finds herself in the center of three people. One of them, surprisingly, is herself, albeit in cheerful Puella Magi form. Next is her own mother, arms crossed and as stern as ever. And third, right in front of the girl... is her hero. Kyoko. Looking down at her, her face covered by shadow.
For some reason the little girl can't move. Can't raise herself to look at any of these people. She can't look up to see their expressions better. She tries to speak, but it only comes out as a croak. A cry. A whimper.]
"She can't even speak." "What is it? What is it you have to say, Yuma? Is it... nothing?" "You shouldn't expect anything from her. Nothing at all."
"""She's useless."""
[N... No... That's not true! The girl tries to scream, but suddenly, the three are sneering at her. Taunt after taunt begins to leave their lips, all the while all she ( ... )

[He's just a little thing, but his strength-- it's like it always used to be, capable of throwing people ten times larger than him through walls.]
Leave her alone!

... But the three don't seem to care about the person. They just begin declaring that Yuma can't do anything for herself. That she needs people she doesn't even know, again and again-- Which eventually goads her into speaking.
Unfortunately...]
G-Get out...! You're making it worse!!
Reply
She's not useless! You're just big bitches who want her to be!
And you gotta stop crying and get up! Just cuz they're bigger than you doesn't mean you oughtta just let them walk all over you!
[And no, he's not going to get out. He'll break down walls before then.]

But... But it's... Mama and Kyoko and Yuma-- What can Yuma do?
Reply
Try standin' up for yourself, maybe? Just cuz they say you can't do anything doesn't mean it's true. Everybody's got somethin they're good at, even if they dunno what it is yet. Tch, this is like somethin' out of a nightmare.

[Yuma points a shaking, burned hand to her double, who has begun to yell along with the other three. Odd outfit aside, there's a clear difference - an obvious confidence - in that girl that this one just totally lacks.]
That Yuma has all of Yuma's power. Yuma... Yuma can't do anything anymore. Now even Kyoko doesn't want me... Yuma's going to be left all alone.

[He looks over at the other Yuma curiously, but brushes it off.]
Ya said it yourself. You're a kid! That means there's stuff you don't know you can do yet. And just cuz these creepies don't like you, that doesn't mean ya can't find other friends.
[Don't mind him, he just keeps spitting out the blunt and honest truth like he sees it.]
And if somebody stole your power, just get it back! Or make do without, like a normal person.

[Oops, this is not the time to be defiant, is it?]
Yuma's... Kyoko is one of these people! Yuma wants Kyoko to be with her!

And they were...]
Yuma...!
[Homura reached out and tried to pull the screaming Yuma away from them, ignoring how the irons also burned her hands and arms.]
Reply
[As the irons come down on someone else, Yuma looks up, clear surprise on her face. She doesn't understand. Why would someone come for her, when the only person who would is... one of the people doing this...!?
Except-- The three just seem to want to keep taunting, and with their mark on Homura as well, they declare her USELESS as well and with that, a new trio of irons bursts from the floor itself to stab and scar Yuma right in her back.]
Reply
Nh... [She wills her arms and legs to work, yanking the younger girl off the new set of irons as she attempts to escape the circle the three figures made.]

[Yuma's finally yanked off, and the irons sink back into the ground. With Yuma now being supported by nothing, she falls back - giving Homura somewhere to fall and maybe even roll away with the girl, if she's able. Yuma can only look up with her tearstained eyes, trying to will the other girl away.
This is Yuma's fate. You don't deserve this.]

she finds her footing soon enough, and she rushes forward with every intention of pulling yuma out of that mess. yuma may find two hands on her shoulders, now. that's kyoko--staring right up at her own shadowed face.]
Who the hell do you think you are?
Reply
I'm the Kyoko that didn't forget.
[... And that, in turn, makes Yuma wince like she had been burned. Even more than before, she's tugging away from Kyoko. That one... hurt... The wrong Kyoko came for her... The wrong one...]

[kyoko tries not to flinch when the other her pulls out that spear. she does a pretty good job of it, despite the fact that she never expected to see that thing again.
especially not from her, or pointed at her. but it's still there. kyoko stands up, placing herself between yuma and this faker.]
You've got some nerve pulling that on me. [a smirk.] If you didn't forget, what're you doing pulling crap like this?
