The wind whispers Zidane
A couple of weeks ago I had no idea who Zidane was. I still can't name another player on the French squad besides Henry. Anyone else on the Italians? No idea. I'm as ignorant as your most football-ignorant ignorant-American can be. I don't watch American sports like baseball or American football let alone soccer, and I watched a grand total of four World Cup matches. But I have become completely and totally obsessed with The Headbutt.
From all the animations (thanks spamhead) to theories of what was said ("meritate tutti ciò, voi gli enculato di musulmani, sporchi terroristici" I picture being said by Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday) I can't keep lapping up every little tidbit. It's like some great European political drama writ large.
