I'm with the DJ, OK?
Pretty cool moment... I went to an outside bar at the Farmers Market to watch Italy v Germany. I ended up sitting next to a German guy, so naturally he's rooting for the Germans, we're making conversation, talking about where he's from and so on. The guy on the other side listening in says he's going to Berlin in a few days to play a festival in a few days, that he's a DJ, that he plays House music.
I'm no clubber at all, but I'm a complete armchair dance music junkie so I pursue it, ask what type, where he's from, so on, turns out he's Andy Caldwell. Now if you you're not into dance music this won't mean anything, but to me this is a big freakin' deal. He's not like the superstar, but this guy knows how to spin, and is signed to Om, which is my favorite labels in the world, and I've got his cds which are great.
So I got to talk for a few minutes with him, told him I love his discs, about the others on the label, about his upcoming shows and so on. Pretty cool, I thought.
