my director for sweeney todd, jim alexander, was having lots of family problems during our show. a family member of his died at the start of rehearsals and then in the middle, his mother died.
he wasn't able to make it to our show until closing night. he usually only comes to opening nights anyway, but he had really high blood pressure that night and couldn't make it.
i just got a phone call from caroline.
she was crying.
jim had a massive heart attack this morning and passed away.
poor, cindy. her husband was a great man. the best director i've ever worked with. it saddens me to think i didn't get to know him better and that i'll never get a chance to work with him again.
