Brian's Song (Oh, Mexico)

Feb 25, 2007 21:05

How was my trip to Mexico, is the question I know you're all wondering. Well, I'll tell you, in the best way I possibly can.

A long dirt road
At the crossroads of the sun
Winding blindly into space
The moon is gone, but night's begun

Cardboard nailed
To a sturdy crate alone
Ramshackle and falling down
This is love, this is my home

And I'll offer you a dollar bill
From my very own pocket, don't turn me down
It's yours to keep to remember me
As I lay myself beneath the ground

Oh, Antarctica
Oh, Mexico

Rush to meet you
Every morning you're right outside
Souls spinning and falling down
Now that you're here I want to fly

Stray dogs bark
Pushing through the gravel way
You can't leave, you're my best friend
Though you don't understand a word I say

And I'll offer you a lock and key
To open all the doors you found
It's yours to keep, to remember me
As I lay myself beneath the ground

Oh, Antarctica
Oh, Mexico
Oh, Antarctica
Oh, Mexico

And the landscape's littered
With shadows ripped at all the seams
I've found a place to be with you
I'll follow you into your dreams
The busses pass, they burn up gas,
They move at subsonic speeds,
I've found a place to be with you.
I'll be with you in your dreams.

And I'll offer you my little hand
It's yours to have, it's yours to hold
I want you to remember me
Though I'll stay young while you grow old.

Oh, Antarctica
Oh, Mexico
Oh, Mexico
Oh, Mexico
