It's getting frustating to live in a culture of superlatives. I was trying to find a good book last night at the library, and after ten minutes I felt immensely tired. Every book was the most exquisite work since Dickens; every writer is a reincarnation of some great mythical writer. It makes me want to not read. I can't say I enjoy the feeling.

I'm feeling in a spooky kind of mood. Any suggestions for spooky fics or books?
