1. What has been the most influential or inspirational book you've ever read?
This is like the hardest question ever, because there are so many that hit me. I think it was during high school that I read L'Assommoir by Émile Zola. It was the first time that I read naturalist fiction, and it changed everything. Life seemed even more real in Zola's words. I think it awoke me to fiction and to the true power words have. I was reading a lot when I was in school, but every page of a novel blewing me away was something new for me.
2. If you had unlimited leisure time, what hobby would you like to pick up?
Honestly? VIDEO GAMES. There, I said it. I love to do constructive stuff, but video games are very dangerous for me. I get completely absorbed in what I do. I would indulge a bit more, I think. But I'd love how to sew and knit properly.
3. When you were a little kid, what did you hope to grow up to be (in terms of occupation)?
I was a very nerdy child - got excellent grades, acted as a know-it-all around adults, and was very shy and insignificant around people my age. I had a lot of imagination...So of course, I wanted to be the extreme opposite of who I was. I wanted to be an actress for a long time. I remember also wishing fervently to *be* a witch - there was a moment where I was reading everything I could about the Dark Arts numerology and tarot reading and all that stuff. The common denominator seems to me that I wanted to be different. I also wanted to tell stories. My parents couldn't read me anything - I was doing it for them.
4. What is your favorite dish to prepare?
I love to cook. I think my lemonade cake is the thing I prefer cooking. It means friends and family and party.
5. Which of your relatives are you most like?
Oh my. *thinks* I've been trying for years to change so I wouldn't be like my mom, so I guess you get your answer.
