(no subject)
So I got to work this morning and the only two employees in the whole library were me and a campus security officer. No reference librarian, no student security, no circ employees. Just my luck I know how to perform the duties of both reference and circulation! Why the hell don't I get paid more? Fortunately a circ employee showed up, but someone has to sit at the south entrance of the library. Basically, for all you non-library employees, this means I'm covering 3 desks by myself today. Saturday is not a particularly busy day at the library, but I still feel pretty crazed as I desk hop. Of course, how busy could it be if I have time to type all this? To that I say, "THAT'S NOT THE POINT! I am a student employee and I get paid for shit. You want me to do the work of 3 people? Promote me and pay me more!" Fucking Great... The CSO just decided to go get something to eat. WTF! There are no employees in the library and the only security guard decides he's hungry?!? Could ya maybe wait a while? Who's gonna protect the books while you're gone? Who's gonna protect the two employees? I wasn't even supposed to work today...
