Lightning in the Daytime: It is an interesting show the villian (Mizu or Aran depending on waht version you buy)is sleazy, the heroine (Hanafusa)is more active than regular Takarazuka heroines and Yamato Yuga has a realtively small interesting role. The ending is a little bit weird but imaginative and made me want to see a Hatsuke Midori villian. The revue part is fun and to give stage time to the other otokoyaku Yamato Yuga dances in drag in some parts. My favorite in that one has to be the one in Indochina

Excellent, they both sound great. I'll probably end up getting the Mizu version of Lightning in the Daytime because, well, Mizu. :D Nothing cut out of either of them, is there (or Romeo and Juliet 99, either)?
I'll probably do this meme at the begining of January, as I have bought two shows which might come before the end of the year so I want to include them.
I will be very interested in reading your answers. Zorroand Pahntom are the only ones with cuts and of those Zorro is the worst since they cut songs during the play. In Phantom you are missing a Hahanfusa solo and and an Aran song at the end.
Mizu is a good sleazy villian I mean come on the first time I saw her befor even uttering a line I said you are the villian and was correct
Some of my answers will be the same as yours, as I've only been a fan for 6 months.
Oh Phantom is cut? That's still sad. I've been lucky so far, all the shows I own are uncut save for the Special on VHS. I'm still upset that Zorro has so much cut, it looked so good.
There's something about Mizu. She can play the usual heroes fine, but give her a villain or someone a bit sinister and she seems to have the time of her life playing them. Which is good for us. ^^
I think it is because villans specially good villians sometimes have more shades than heroes, they have to be able to fool the unsuspecting public that they are up to no good and if they are good nobody suspects a thing.
Regarding Zorro the musical cuts are annoying but it is hilarious to see Mizu acting by turns foppish and dashing and in my case hearing the ocasional Spanish frase used. The joke in the family now is that it is not Zorro but Zoro based on their pronuncitaion :)
That's true. Especially as most villains are meant to come across as pleasant to the hero, while also signalling to the audience that there's something a bit wrong there that they'll have to keep their eye on. At least that's the impression I've got from stage show/musical villains in general.
Haha, I get that with Ernest in Love. To me it's weird hearing 'Bunbury' and a few other phrases so clearly. I only wonder what Trafalgar will be like in that respect. I shall have to find out, I wasn't that interested until I saw the poster and fell in love with it. Now it needs to be seen. ^^;
I have read that it is quite a good show unfortunately I haven't seen enough clips to have a good idea of the show. I think I will add it to my growing shows I must buy :).
Lighting in the Daytime only uses Hatsuke as a villian in the last act but he wicked smiles she made made me want to see more of her acting.
