...am too busy watching Let the Right One In, which is a truly spectacular book. I reserve judgment on the movie. Which is already being remade, way to go Hollywood.

Meant to ask you about that book, actually. As in, where did it hook you? I started, and had a really hard time getting into it...and I just wondered if there was some point I should be waiting for, when you were wowed off your feet, or if it was going to be a case of differing opinions. You're usually reading stuff I love, and I don't want to give up after a rough start just to hear that I missed a fantastic bit by a few pages or something.

Ooh, I think it's likely differing opinions if the beginning didn't get you. It's a very stark and nasty book. I loved it for copious amounts of grit and about no sex at all, but it's a slimy, sick kind of grit a lot of the time. And I think the beginning pretty well set the tone for what the rest would be like.

Of course, when B read it, he thought it was slow getting going, but then once it did it was fine... but I think he was reading more for VAMPIRE KILLING ACTION than the psychological shizzle, so.
