I found a stray!
Hi, all. A couple of days ago I found a stray Rottweiler wandering in the street. He had a collar but no tags. He was very friendly and immediately took to me and my dog (a boxer/pit bull/mystery mix). Nobody was around, so I packed him in my car and took him home.
I've put an ad in the paper, put posters up in the neighborhood where I found him, and had him microchip scanned (he doesn't have one). So far I haven't gotten any responses, and I'm not sure what I'm going to do with him. It's a shame, he is such a friendly, loving dog. His owners cared enough to teach him a few tricks and housetrain him. I know he is missed somewhere, but I'm not sure what else I can do.
Anyway, in the mean time, I have been taking lots of pictures. Here are a couple:

Also, do any of you have any information on Rottweiler rescues? I live in Florida, and there are some down here. I definitely don't want to surrender him to animal control because of their high euthanasia rate. But I'm not sure if rescues accept strays.
