Drinks and Food

[There are lots of good things to eat here in front of the town's only Tavern. Be they homemade or pre-packaged, there's almost anything under the sun though they're probably not brands that anyone who's new here recognizes, even if they're from a version of Earth.

In terms of booze the tap is running freely, managed by good ol' Ruddy Sam from The Old Gray. Speaking of which, there's lots of meat available today - all properly blessed and magicked to not turn into a deadly zombie in your stomach!]

Handing out Booze...anyone need a martini?

[Desmond is here of course - he offered to help Ruddy Sam when the man was mentioning his essential part in the festivities. He'll make you a drink or just say 'hi' to anyone he's met on the network before or in town.

He's also got his eyes out and maybe a hint of Eagle Vision out for a particular woman who promised she'd show up and prove to him once and for all that she 'knows how to have a good time'.

No Bit, you can't have any booze, you're not old enough yet. :|]

It's nice to finally see you do some work, Desmond. Anything you want to recommand me?

Hey! I work! Just because I'm laying down all day...

[He frowns, but quickly smiles again. He's utterly at home behind the bar. Even Lucy's teasing can't keep him down.]

Starting light? Or are you going right for the hard stuff?

[There may be just the faintest hint of suggestion to his tone that Lucy should start with something less powerful. Or is he kidding? Impossible to tell.]

Dancing

[In the Park is where the majority of the dancing is, though there are small bands playing music all over town for those who are a bit shy about their skills. The 'official' dance band playing on the grassy lawn of the park is a rock-techno-fiddle group that manages loud bass-based music with a firm beat and melodies and lyrics that are perfect to dance to. They might be even playing some 'ancient' classics that might sound familiar but not exactly the same to those who come from other versions of Earth.]

[Tifa's wearing a coppery sundress today with dark-colored leggings underneath because it's still a bit chilly. Her figure's such that she can pull off the look though, and well. Her hair has been loosely pull back and tied in an intricate braid that she's seen many of the New Ashford women with long hair sporting. She's smiling softly at the festivities and dancers, hoping that someday soon her own world might experience such peace and happiness.

A curious wish she knows, considering the undead that infest this world, but one she nevertheless means in the best way possible.]

[On the side lines, Lucy watches the people dance in the park, her foot lightly stomping in time with the beat. Her cheeks are flushed, result of the few drinks and shots she shared with Desmond earlier. She won't be too hard to convince to dance with if you try. Dare you to?]

[Terra had been watching this display for some time. This festival seemed to lively and happy. he himself couldn't help but have a smile on his face. Everyone was so polite and nice and it reminded him of better days back home. As he walked through the jubilant crowd, gently pressing his arms to move through them, he stopped for a moment, seeing the woman. A gentle smile lit his face as he approached her, his eyes scanning her own carefully.]

Are you waiting for someone, miss? You seem rather eager to join in the fun.

Party Games and Karaoke

[Dicky's Disco is up to its usual tricks today. 'Children's' games such as Bobbing for Apples, Pin the Nose on the Zombie, and Whack an Undead Mole are available for those of the 'appropriate' age group and older individuals who might want to get in on the fun.

Karaoke is also available today with a larger and more raucous audience than normal.]

[Zombies...playing with the children...and the kids don't seem the least bit afraid. Then who would be, even with the smell and the gruesome nature of their faces when the undead in question are wearing frilly pink tutus and delicately crafted wings of gauze and lace on their rotting backs?

[The Old Gray Tavern has been set up like a cozy lounge with an old projector and DVD/VCR/digital player to play old movies of all kinds. Documentaries are in the line-up as well as horror, kids, anime, action, romance, sci-fi, fantasy, and anything else the denizens of New Ashford have been able to scrounge up.

Of course the crowning jewels of the collection are zombie movies. The people of New Ashford seem to find their ancestors' ideas of the undead particularly entertaining and the Tavern will be full to bursting with excited and laughing citizens for these 'old classics'.

While many of these movies might seem distantly similar to ones on other Earths, they are not exactly the same, nor bear precisely the same titles, characters, or plots.]

Nothing like a comfy couch and a good movie.~

[Maria Walch is going to be sitting here most of the day, enjoying her day off by sitting inside and watching old movies for hours on end. Yes, she knows she's a nerd, but she doesn't really give a damn. This is how she celebrates!

And she has been drinking...warm mead and she also has a bowl of popcorn to share with anyone who joins her.]

[Tron had come with the intent to be a watchful eye, nothing more, but then he'd seen the movies set up and Maria. He was torn between wandering the tavern and keeping his eyes open for trouble... or going over and enjoying the zombie movies.

He decided to at least check in with her.]

Flea Market for Trade

[Been looking for that one item you need or piece of something or other that you couldn't find? You just might be able to find it here at the Flea Market! Barter is the name of the game here, not money, but you don't need to worry if you don't have any physical items to sell. Many citizens of New Ashford are happy with I.O.U.s for favors of physical labor or help in a time of need. Some may just ask your for a song or a dance in the Park!]

[OOC: You can simply post here in OOC and ask for an item your character has been needing and the mods will let you know if they can obtain it and what sort of 'price' in barter they can expect. You're also welcome to barter with other players here or have a booth of your own of things your character has collected outside the wall! Note that such things would typically be very trinket-like as most useful items outside the wall have already be scoured by thieves and cultists.]

[ Hank was missing many things from his collection of toys back home. In fact, he was missing just about everything and while he hadn't found out where he is staying quite yet, he had stumbled upon the flea market and decided that it couldn't hurt to look around.

As he looked at all of the new things on the table, scoping stuff out, he looked sideways at the person standing next to him. Was this a zombie? Was it really hard to tell? He was really fascinated by the idea and was kind of half hoping she was... ]
