here goes

it's funny that i find myself writing the first post in, oh, 5 months when i have a 10 page paper due tonight. highly amusing. but i figured that since i've finally gotten in touch with some of you out there, that i might be kind enough to bring the others up-to-date with some of the major stuff that's been going on.

1) moved into my OWN apartment. mine. all mine. it's a studio, in a basement, but i have a full kitchen and it's like a brightly-lit cave. and i live 14 houses down from where JFK was raised. and it's in a very nice jewish neighborhood. and it's in brookline, 10 feet from the bus stop and 4 (short) blocks from the T, so you should all visit me and my happy apartment.

it's nice not living with roommates. living with aaron didn't go so great, which is disappointing, but hey, that's life, right? he's too lazy and argumentative for his own good.

2) work? since i started at the creperie in march, i've gone from barista to prep to cook to asst manager to manager. it's all a lot but i enjoy it for the most part. i find that i love working in the restaurant business and my regulars rule! there are indeed some great people who live around boston, and it's neat just how much a familiar face can brighten your day. so it's a hectic life because i often end up being called into work for some reason or other, and i've got lots of duties outside of my scheduled hours, but all in all i love the people i work with and i love the people who let me serve them. i can't wait to open my own restaurant, and i think that i'll be good at it too.

3) taking classes at harvard extension, which explains the paper that i'm avoiding. one accounting class (*zzzzz*) and one hotel and restaurant management class. Rocco, from The Restaurant (that reality show that i never watched, but just know a lot about) was a student of the professors in the latter class. perhaps one day i'll be sort of but not really famous too. *laugh*

4) a good friend from high school got married a few weeks ago. she's the first out of all my friends to go. i didn't get to attend her wedding because it was in Alabama and i'm poor. another very good friend is now engaged. she's getting married next fall. i get to be a bridesmaid! i don't really know what that entails, but it should be fun. there's noone else out there that i know of who is married or engaged. i wonder who's next...?

5) life in general has been busy and stressful, but also good and great. last weekend i got to see molly for the first time in, oh, a year and some months. we had fun! it was good to see her finally, considering we only live less than an hour apart. yeah, i'm really good at keeping in touch with people. oops. mark and i are going to my house for thanksgiving break, which should be fun. we went with a few of our friends to see Brian Regan last night at the comedy connection (in quincy market). he's a great comedian and if you don't know him, you should go online and download his stuff. so good.

melissa, i hope that this was both substantial and informative enough for you!
that's all for now, folks, and remember, the rotten peach loves you! *giggle*
