On Tuesday I went to see A Istory of Violence at the Prince Charles in Leicester square. While I was there, there was a construction crew putting up big steel crowd barriers out in front of the Empire cinema, you know the kind with the part that extends along the ground where people stand on and little metal steps on the other side for bouncers to jump up on and, I don't know, beat people silly with batons I guess. It turned out that the barriers were all for the UK premiere of Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson's Get Rich or Die Trying. Later that night, walking back to my room, I saw one of those gigantic stretch escalade limos on Tottenham Court Road and thought to myself "that must be Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson now!" Because who else would be booking in a limo-UV in the middle of London? A couple nights later, some guys walked by me dressed pretty flash, one in stressed denim with a leather jacket and cowboy boots, another in one of those weird full-length green tweedy things that make everyone look kinda like "Fagan the Jew" from Oliver Twist. Anyhow some people walking behind them turned to each other and one was like "it's the Strokes! I never see anyone famous!" So I guess this is the week of seeing fake famous people or something. Here are some more pictures!
Here's the street I live on, the other side isn't as pretty because there is a bunch of noisy construction going on.
Here's my front door. My window is the open one on the far left on the top floor.
This is what you see when you enter my room...
and when you turn around.
I took a walk through Regent's Park and took some kinda boring pictures. Are you ready? Put yer walking shoes on!

Fountains are on all the time in London because it's never below freezing (0, that is). Also the grass is still green and a good amount of flowers were blooming in the beds.
This is a weird monument/drinking fountain erected by "Sir Cowasjee Seganir" (I think) "loyal companion of the Star of India" in deference to the colonial powers in 1863.
You might not be able to tell what this is, but it's what I took to be some grouses grousing around in some underbrush near the London Zoo (at the north end of the park). These things are weird because at first they look like pigeons but closer up are obviously too fat to bee pigeons. Can anyone identify these thinge for sure?
I was going to peek into the London Zoo but that crap costs £13.50, so no go. The west side of the park is all sports pitches, one rugby and I think cricket somewhere, but mostly football.
There's a little brook that empties into the pond, that's spanned by a little bridge from which I took this picture. After I came off the bridge I passed a police officer with a coffee in one hand and big scary automatic rifle across his chest.
Here is the London Central Mosque, right on the edge of the park.
Further down the pond there are tons of waterfowl who are pretty unscrupulous about hopping out of the water and soliciting food.
