First post in September!
And it's my 12 of 12...three days late!
I'm batting 1.000, that's for sure.
12:22 a.m. We spent part of Friday evening observing filming of an NBC show in Century City. As location shooting tends to do, it lasted into the early hours of Saturday.
8:20 a.m. The Dish Network guy showed up right at 8 a.m., and since the main receiver is in my room (something about the phone line...?), I had to vacate the premises. I took up residence in Amanda's room instead.
10:58 a.m. But the early morning was worth it, because look at this! (Oh, and we got a hi-def TV over Labor Day weekend...)
12:43 p.m. Since we were up relatively early, we made the drive out to Arcadia to hit up one of our favorite restaurants, Din Tai Fung Dumpling House.
1:21 p.m. Arcadia is out where the Station Fire was, and this was the closest any of us had been to it since it started. The skies were still a bit smoky, but otherwise, it was difficult to tell that anything had happened. This is Mount Wilson, where a bunch of the L.A.-area radio and TV stations place their antennae, and it was in danger for a while.
2:57 p.m. Back at home, enjoying the TV, and OMG DISNEY CHANNEL HD WAS SHOWING SPACE CAMP! I looooved this movie when I was a kid, and I hadn't seen it in years.
3:20 p.m. I was doing some reading on the 9/12 protests and found this image in a Fark thread on the topic. Classic.
3:49 p.m. Early morning means afternoon nap.
6:11 p.m. Aaaand since I was still on the couch, I figured you guys didn't want ANOTHER picture of the TV. So this is the view out our dining room windows from there.
7:56 p.m. The cover of the NYT magazine from a few weeks ago, on the Beatles Rock Band release. I'd just finished reading the article, which was fabulously written.
8:46 p.m. We'd been switching back and forth between the U.S. Open and the USC/Ohio State game, so we actually missed all of the hullabaloo with Serena Williams. Jez had my back.
9:42 p.m. Amanda, making me (or us, whatever) food!
