Welcome to new fandoms
Hello, anyone who still reads this journal. I haven't been as completely absent from fandom as I've seemed. I've actually been pretty active with Sherlock: The Game Is On which is shaping up to be an incredible project. And I'm still reading a bit, though not as much. Frankly, I'm never going to join Tumblr fandom because I use the platform professionally, and I recognize that pretty much takes me out of the fandom loop these days.
But, that being said, I feel a new obsession coming on. I recently devoured all of Welcome To Night Vale, and I am so super hooked. I'm recognizing the symptoms: consume the media once. Consume the media a second time. Okay, maybe I'll listen to it all a third time. Start reading interviews, doing research, gathering up the details. Let me look at a fic or two, just to see what's out there. Maybe I'll read some more fic. Okay, maybe I'll read a lot more fic and lurk on the popular Tumblrs and kind of think about this show all of the time.
I've seen these symptoms before, and I have a feeling it means I'll be writing Night Vale fic down the road, even if I have no current plans to do so. It's just nice to feel this excited about something again. If I do end up writing something for Night Vale, any requests? :)
