Busy week last week!
Ruth came to stay and we did see Sister Act, which was really fun and better than I was expecting. The girl who played the main part was really really good. The set was cool too and kept disappearing into the floor which looked impressive. The next day we went to lots of galleries because Ruth does Art and paints etc. In the one in Somerset House there were a couple of weird videos: the first was of Tracey Emin talking about having lots of sex when she was 14 in Margate (memorable line: "I remember the first time someone asked me to grab his balls." LOL.) and the other one was people wearing masks confessing their secrets (including creepy dude who got off on phoning random women and creeping them out.). Then we went to a few random free galleries that we found along the South Bank, including one in the National Theatre which was of some students doing theatre design. They had to do all the costumes designs for several different plays as well as the concept and the set design and everything, so that was really interesting. Finally, we went to the Tate Modern to look at the crazy stuff.
This is in the Tate Modern and I tried to be arty by making the people go blurry:
Ominous clouds on the wobbly bridge:
On Friday was Jess's birthday, meaning the annual epic party of the year ;) That was fun, apart from the drunk girl who threw up in the bed. ewww, I hope you got it cleaned ok in the end!
On Saturday I went to see Gareth David-Lloyd and Kai Owen (who I totally did not know was going to be there, lol) with Lucy, Gem and Claire. The queue looked really long so we went for lunch first, and when we did join the queue there was a cardboard cut-out of Jack in the window of the Cafe Nero behind us! hehe. As I'd thought it was just Gareth I hadn't brought anything for Kai to sign, so I got him to sign my big promo pic too, and was like 'sorry you're not in this picture!' so Gareth drew Kai on it for me, complete with rugby shirt stripes and pie and chips.
LOL thanks for that, GDL.
And here's my Jewel Staite one from LFCC because I never posted it before:
I kind of wish I had asked for a photo with them because I have Gem's one on my camera and it's so cute!
So afterwards we went to Thames House and messed about posing in front of it, haha, and then went up to Parliament and sat in the park, listened to the bongs, went to an arcade and squished into a TARDIS photo booth, were indecisive about where to eat, then finally ate in Waterloo and went home!
